B612 + #AsteroidInstitute brings together scientists, researchers, and engineers to develop tools and technologies to map and navigate our solar system.
As an #AsteroidInstitute software developer, Aidan Berres built Orb_it, an open-source testing suite for orbit-integration software — and found the hands-on research experience that helped set him on the path to a Ph.D. Read his story: https://t.co/SM4WjPtoqJ

The U.S. Senate has unanimously passed a resolution recognizing TODAY, June 30, as Asteroid Day.
Asteroid Day was cofounded by Long Now board member and @b612foundation President, Danica Remy, and introduced by AZ Senator and retired NASA astronaut Mark Kelly, alongside Senator Moran (R-KS) and Cornyn (R-TX).
Danica has worked tirelessly to build an international coalition for research, analysis, and systems to detect and protect Earth from asteroids. Asteroid Day is a huge triumph, years in the making. Congratulations to everyone who made this possible!
