The media continues to denounce Biden’s advanced age. Yet, in a perfect counterpoint to this aggressiveness, Biden's attitude has been serene and lucid. He recognizes his limitations but emphasizes his qualities: "I'm old,” says Biden. But I'm honest."

Bingo.

In the past, old age was seen as the end of our usefulness on Earth. However, science has created a new reality: old age as a third life.

English poet Tennyson reflected, "Old age is like climbing a big mountain; the higher you climb, the better the view becomes.”

The third life presents its challenges. One must deal with physical and mental changes.

But it is also a moment of reflection, self-knowledge, and rediscovery of oneself. It is a chance to reassess priorities, make new choices, and live more intensely and purposefully.

"Aging is mandatory; growing is optional," Francis Bacon philosophized.

Biden's sinking might have been the missing key to his resurgence. The "Hero" is an archetype with something tragic, who needs to get up from the ground after being beaten a lot.

I was still pondering this scenario when Biden's situation became much worse in the last few hours. It’s a shame.

I don't know if the world would be better governed by an elderly president with memory failures.

But I fully believe that there is nothing worse for the future of the planet than handing over the U.S. presidency to a foul-mouthed and fascist bully.
