Since this is making the rounds again (and I say again because it's from March 24, but I had no idea that SHE had made it all the way to an official hearing on the matter of Asian Hate, and somehow made it about Black people) I present to you @johncyangdc debunking Diane Yap.
I see Diane Yap is getting more attn lately.
Reminder that Diane is a tool of white supremacy and a pick-me Asian. She infiltrated the Black & Asian Alliance Network @BAANorg in its early days but was quickly put out after she let her mask slip.
Stop platforming this idiot.
Black America doesn’t need any thoughts & prayers. Democrats if you want to honor the victims of Jacksonville & Buffalo. Put a Anti-Black hate crime bill up in congress. If not we know what to do in 2024.

This morning, as I grapple with the passing of my aunt…
A gross distortion of my father’s beliefs on equality; a horrible misuse of his image to oppose something he pressed for:
Policies/programs that prevent ‘white supremacy’ laden inequity in hiring, college admissions, etc
On affirmative action and those Asians who support it:
Speak up & out about this to people you know. Do not let Asians be used as pawns in the game White Supremacy plays. You have a choice to think critically about how this country treats its Black people.

3 of the many co-founders of @BAANorg met today for dinner and drank. Since 2020 we've been doing a lot of work to hold and maintain space for Black, Asian and & Blasian alliance, solidarity and unity. Hasn't always been easy and it's a never ending journey, but we do what we can
@Soumei_japan @ryo19891015 The Black & Asian Alliance Network stands for the unity and solidarity of Black communities with Asian communities. We denounce, in the harshest possible terms, this egregious display of ignorance and discrimination against Black people. Shame on everyone involved with this.
This woman just loudly asked the nail tech, who was born and raised here, how she likes life in the states. When the tech looked puzzled, she said it slower and louder. Before I could speak, another customer said, ‘Lady, she’s literally American, pls be quiet.’
From @NextShark
New York State legislators have introduced a bill that would require public schools to teach Asian American and Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander (AANHPI) history to combat hate crimes and dispel stereotypes.

While AAPI communities have fought this, THIS is not the way.
Ron DeSantis has passed a bill requiring AAPI studies but, at the same time, fights AGAINST Black History.
This is an old tactic to pit Black and Asian people against one another.
It’s morally insane that in Tennessee they can pass laws to ban books, ban conversations about racism and bias in schools, ban drag shows, and even try to ban Black legislators they disagree with… but we can’t pass a ban on militarized guns from terrorizing our communities…
Halle Berry was first to win the Best Actress award and she was present to hand Michelle Yeoh her Oscar when she won.
We are so proud, and we hope that it does not take 2 more decades to see more women and people of color winning in the leading role categories #Oscars
The hearing in question gave space to anti-Black language that is also a part of this story. We believe accountability must include owning faults and learning from them, and VOCAL-NY is committed to reflecting on — and unlearning — the prejudices that hold us all back.
