"Kid hasn't been to workouts all summer, but talking about can he get a "Speedflex" because he doesn't want to get picked on for wearing a "Bucket"
Me:
I don’t want to coach my son in youth football.
I’d rather be in the stands just being Dad.
But if I feel like the only way he’ll be taught the right fundamentals, discipline, character, and respect for the game is for me to do it, then I’ll coach.
Winning games is easy.
Building young men is the job.
To all my high school coaches…
If you’ve spent years busting your butt building a program, and then a private school offers you 2 or 3 times the salary…
Did they “steal” you?
Or did they simply offer a better opportunity?
Funny how it’s called “stealing” when it’s a player, but “career advancement” when it’s a coach.
