President William Ruto's signature KCU 192H should be recalled back to job, we need to hit the road and show these opposition how real politics is played.
As we officially kick off the Kenya Mining Investment Conference and Expo (MICE) 2026, presided over by H.E. President @WilliamsRuto, my message to investors and delegates from across the globe is clear: Kenya’s mining sector is primed, secure and ready for transformative investment.
We have deliberately de-risked the industry by undertaking a comprehensive aerial geophysical survey and a level of ground-truthing to accurately establish the quality and quantity of our mineral resources. This provides investors with reliable, data-driven insights to guide their decisions.
At the same time, the Government has made significant investments in creating supporting infrastructure including an expanded road network, the Standard Gauge Railway and efficient port systems. These developments ensure seamless connectivity and logistics, reinforcing Kenya’s position as a competitive and investment-ready destination.
For investors, this means more than just a stable legal and regulatory framework. It signals a country that has put in place the necessary foundations to unlock the full potential of its mining sector.
In line with H.E. the President’s directive on beneficiation, we are firmly committed to ensuring that minerals extracted in Kenya contribute meaningfully to local value addition. We will no longer permit the export of raw minerals. #MICE2026
My honest opinion on today's Linda Wananchi rally in Kakamega…
First off, there was nothing substantial that was addressed.
Sifuna’s team didn't provide any solution to the issues bedevilling the common Mwananchi.
Dr. Babu Owino continued with his incessant call for demonstrations. It's like he believes change can only be found through violence.
Babu also sustained his attacks against the ODM experts in government; this reeks of someone who's jealous of his brother's success.
Orengo is still stuck in the activism era of the 1990s. He holds a position that should deliver the much-needed change but has since absconded from his duties.
In summary, nothing substantial came from that rally today.
Beyond sloganeering, Kenyans want real solutions to their problems, not the usual whinings from leaders who have been bestowed with the opportunity to change their lives.
I appreciate the Taita Taveta County leadership led by H.E. Governor Andrew Mwadime and Deputy Governor H.E. Christine Kilalo, together with MPs Hon. John Bwire (Taveta) and Hon. Danson Mwashako (Wundanyi), Kishushe MCA Hon. Newton Kifuso and the Managing Committee of the Kishushe Ranch for the fruitful consultative meeting we held today to unlock the full potential of mining in the county.
Our discussions focused on developing the mining sector including iron ore mining in Kishushe, and ensuring full benefits to local communities, the county and the nation at large.
As a Ministry, our agenda remains to maximize mineral beneficiation by ensuring that mining goes beyond extraction to include value addition. This approach is key to boosting the economy, enhancing local industrialization and creating sustainable wealth and employment opportunities in the country.
I was accompanied by senior officers from the State Department for Mining led by Principal Secretary Harry Kimtai.
This morning, I welcomed the Director of Public Prosecutions, Renson Ingonga, and his team as they commenced their working tour in the county.
We deliberated on partnering on facilitation of expert witnesses and witness protection, promoting community awareness and making justice more accessible to minors, women and other vulnerable groups in addressing sexual and gender-based violence in the county and addressing county by-laws offences.
We reaffirm our commitment to sustained collaboration with ODPP to improve justice delivery, public safety, and lawful governance.
I attended a high-level meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Finance, Infrastructure, Land and the Production Economy, chaired by Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki, EGH, at his Official Residence in Karen, Nairobi County.
The session delved into a comprehensive review of critical national matters, setting the stage for key proposals and decisions to be presented to the full Cabinet under the leadership of H.E. President Dr. William Samoei Ruto, CGH.
I launched a sea rescue boat that will enhance ocean surveillance and ensure timely responses to maritime emergencies.
The boat has been procured through the Kenya Maritime Authority, which will oversee its management together with 3 other patrol boats from the Fisheries Department
I also inspected the construction of a fish market in Malindi town, a project that will significantly promote value addition and improve market access for fish and fish products in the region.
I was accompanied by Kilifi Governor H.E @GideonMungaroM, MPs Hon. Amina Mnyazi (Malindi) and Hon. Paul Katana (Kaloleni), Principal Secretaries Ms @PS_Betsy_Njagi (Blue Economy and Fisheries) and Mr. @fikirini_jacobs (Youth Affairs and Creative Economy) as well as other national and county leaders.
Pope Francis was the rare leader who made us want to be better people. In his humility and his gestures at once simple and profound – embracing the sick, ministering to the homeless, washing the feet of young prisoners – he shook us out of our complacency and reminded us that we are all bound by moral obligations to God and one another.
Today, Michelle and I mourn with everyone around the world – Catholic and non-Catholic alike – who drew strength and inspiration from the Pope’s example. May we continue to heed his call to “never remain on the sidelines of this march of living hope.”
Happy birthday to my brother and friend @AharubKhatri.
