Auburn is one of the top teams in Alabama and they came to the Classic for one game and made quick work of Ezel Harding. Sr. Antoine Daniels seemed to play all 5 positions for Auburn and led them in scoring with 19 pts.

Male (KY) vs Eagles Landing Christian Academy (GA)
The marquee game of the day featured Kentucky’s No. 1 team, Male, squaring off against the No. 1 player in the 2028 class, AJ Williams. Male countered with two Top-100 prospects of its own in 2028 guard Jordan Mitchell and forward Trey Hillerich, setting the stage for a highly anticipated showdown.
The game lived up to the billing. Williams showed exactly why he has the entire country buzzing, displaying a complete skill set while consistently elevating those around him. He finished with an impressive all-around line of 23 points, 10 rebounds, and 7 assists.
Male’s super sophomore Jordan Mitchell was more than ready for the moment. He poured in a game-high 27 points, including 20 in the first half, setting the tone early. Mitchell’s play throughout December has been outstanding, and he continues to prove why he’s attracting significant attention from high-major programs across the country.

This game never was in question. The University School came in ready to play. They were led by Sr. Jordan Moshe who had a game high 20 pts and dropped numerous dimes.

Day 2, Game 6:
Covington Catholic 95 vs Lee (AL) 50
CC dominated the game from the start, and it was clear that they were the better team. The game was over before it even began. CC led by one of the most underrated point guards in the state, 2026 Athens McGillis. McGillis had an impressive stat line of 32 points, 4 assists, and 4 rebounds. He was supported by five other players who scored in double figures, with perhaps the best shooter in his class, 2027 Braeden Myrick.

In matchup game of two of the best teams in the 11th Region, the game didn’t disappoint. Mr. Basketball front-runners put on a show. Feldhaus (Belmont commit) lifted his team to the win with 28 & 16. Sr. Amari Owen (EKU commit) kept station in the game with 37 points, it just wasn’t enough.

In a game where the Male dominated from the out set. The tone setter on both ends was Sr. Clark. He was aggressive on both ends and led them in scoring with 22. They once again got outstanding output from super sophs Trey Hillerich and Jordan Mitchell. Trey tallied a triple-double with 17, 10, and 10 blocks, and even in foul trouble, Mitchell tallied 21.

By far the best game of the day. TC jumped on WC in the first and led by as many as 23. Soph G Cooper Stone put on a shooting display with 17 first-half points and finished with 26. WC pressure defense took over in the 2nd half and Kaleb Prince put them on his back and finished with 25. Both teams will be a problem in their region.

HOF Coach Riley put on a coaching clinic, exploiting Caverna by only playing 5 players. JJ Washington controlled the game and made big shots when it counted, finishing with 20 points and a number of assists. Senior Cortavian Maxey tried to keep Caverna in the game with some big 3’s and finished with 17 points.

St. Xavier 62 vs Warren Central 54
The days most highly anticipated game and didn’t disappoint. WC put up a good fight, but highly recruited 2028 G Josh Lindsay came up big for St. X with 23 points and knocked down some big 3’s. 2027 W Armani Byrd had his best game since his injury and led WC with 19 pts and an electrifying dunk.

It was a matchup of two top 15 teams in the state that will be vying for the coveted Sweet 16 Championship in March. GRC came out strong on their home court and went up by double digits. Davies Div 1 commit (UT Chatt) Senior PG Jonathan Moss calmed his team down and started controlling the game. From then on Davies dominated top 5 GRC. It’s been along time since I’ve seen GRC get dominated like that on their home court
