Most people think trading is about finding the perfect indicator.
We think it’s the opposite.
We don’t use indicators.
We wait for price to drift away from fair value, align with seasonals, then use simple weekly support and resistance to find our technical entry points — all with strict 2% risk.
Less noise. More edge.
That’s how we trade commodities at BAM Futures.
What’s your approach — technicals, fundamentals, or both?

Wheat (ZW) Update
Wheat is pushing back toward the May high of 688.25.
The May rally was driven by poor US winter wheat conditions lowering ending stock projections. Those conditions have now been realized.
The current move appears to be fueled more by geopolitical concerns (Russia/Ukraine) rather than new fundamental deterioration.
Fair value sits near 670 based on ending stocks. Spring wheat conditions are good, precipitation is above average, and July seasonals point lower.
Can we find selling at 688 with a move back toward 570?

Corn Short Closed ✅
We closed the final 1/3 of our corn short position today for a total 7.3% return on the account.
Entered short on the July contract on May 6th at an average price of 470.5, then rolled the position into December as volume shifted.
Trade Thesis:
• Seasonals turned bearish
• Ending stocks charts showed fair value near $4.10
• Precipitation was adequate for a decent start to the growing season
Disciplined trade from entry to exit.
+7.3% booked. Ready for the next setup.

Yes, that’s correct.
Near-term we expect downside pressure and are looking to sell rallies toward the 3.40 area, targeting 2.80 – 2.60.
Once we get into that support zone and seasonals turn bullish in August, we’ll look to flip and go long.
Two-phase setup: Sell strength now, buy weakness later.
Natural Gas Setup
Seasonals point to a downtrend through late July into August.
The year-over-year storage chart shows fair value sitting between 3.40 and 2.50, with the forecast suggesting we stay in this range for the time being.
Game plan:
Sell rallies toward 3.40
Target 2.80 – 2.60
Look to buy the 2.60 – 2.80 zone once seasonals turn bullish in August
Range-bound environment for now.

Soyoil Short Update
Our ZL short is already in profit 1.5x our original stop distance.
We’ve moved the stop to breakeven. This trade is now risk-free with upside potential remaining.
Originally risked 1% — now sitting at 0% risk.
This is how we manage positions: Big win or no blood.

New Position: Soyoil Short
We entered a short position in Soyoil (ZL) today after a breakdown below 72.95.
Key reasons:
• Crude oil prices have been falling
• Export sales of soy oil remain weak
• Favorable U.S. soybean weather improving supply outlook
• Fair value sits significantly lower, near 49.00
We sized this position smaller at 1% risk because recent seasonal patterns show August as a historically strong selling period, with biodiesel inventories also expected to decline into fall.
Targets: 58.50 → 50.00

Corn Short Closed ✅
Closed 2/3 of our position today for a clean 5% return.
Entered short May 6 at 470.5 and took profits at 422.4. Fair value near 410 + bearish seasonals made this a high-probability setup.
Still holding the final 1/3 targeting late July or a drought.
Disciplined trade management.

NatGas Trade Closed ✅
We closed our long position in July Natural Gas this morning at $3.350 for a +3.8% return.
Entered at $2.850 on the June contract back on May 4th — when seasonals were turning bullish, year-over-year inventories were starting to decline, and cooling demand was ramping up.
Now with seasonals shifting bearish, we’ll be looking for opportunities to short on the next setup.
Solid trade. On to the next one.

NatGas Update
Seasonals and warmer weather are aligning for further upside.
Prices are currently sitting right at fair value, but year-over-year inventories are forecasted to fall slightly in the coming weeks — which should push fair value higher.
We think the bullish case remains strong.

Day trading agriculture and energy futures isn’t it. This isn’t forex.
The better approach is following seasonal trends combined with fundamental fair value.
When seasonals change, we look for the most under or overpriced commodities and take positions for sustained, multi-week to multi-month moves — allowing you to step away from the screen and hold large winners with conviction.
We also evaluate supply and demand fundamentals closely. If they’re likely to override the seasonal pattern, we profit from the opposite side when the probability is high.
Less stress. Bigger moves. Better year-over-year results.

Corn & Soybean Seasonal Update
Seasonals are now turning bearish.
Precipitation is expected to hit the Corn Belt in the coming weeks, potentially giving this year’s corn and soybean crops a strong early start.
Historically, this time of year marks the seasonal top.
Watching for downside pressure from here.

Cotton Target Hit ✅
88 cents hit today.
We called the long from the low 60s when seasonals lined up, crude prices were rising, and West Texas was facing very dry conditions.
Took partial profits at 74.5 cents and held the final 1/3 all the way to 88 cents.
Higher crude pushed polyester prices up, increasing demand for cheaper cotton, while the dry weather in West Texas created bullish growing conditions that fueled the rally.
The thesis played out exactly as planned.
