@agronomistryan1@Bradleychoquet2 Bummer, we got enough early that everything came up great outside of drown/wash outs. I guess it could be worse. Ive seen 60-80% of a great crop carry the rest of the field as long as the remaining can get to “average”
Still wont be a bin buster
@agronomistryan1@Bradleychoquet2 Been posting corn between rain events. I think its a good 80 g/e, 15 looks rough but probably be ok if it can dry out and root down and 5 p/vp.
Not even considering all the field damage
@gavin_spoor@gregzimpleman North and west of you similar. Probably 1% is already at 0 from drown out/wash outs. Maybe 5% unplanted. Corn looks good but won’t stop raining to finish spraying. I am certain our ceiling is lower then last year
@farmerjim13 With N as expensive as it is, some of the math gets harder too. Hopefully the rest of the year goes better, even if you didn’t do anything wrong it doesn’t make it easier
@farmerjim13 Im sorry my friend. Its far easier to see something destroyed all at once then a little at a time. I wish we could have sent the last 3” we got that way. Everyone would have had a happier holiday weekend
@PlsntVlyFarmer@1SCOTTY2HOTTIE There are some good things about where we farm, but there’s enough bad ones to keep a lot of outside money from the area
Our farms are a lot of work to maintain, on top of the $7-800/ac cost (if from scratch) to build the structures
Final boss of plugged risers. I had to take my pants off and put on flip flops. Where i sacrificed one to the mud gods.
Still have one that wont drain but i think the rest i got
@1SCOTTY2HOTTIE@PlsntVlyFarmer I think we would have better luck with established terraces versus new construction. Putting two risers underground I think would, that’s a good idea. I think we got about 500 tile inlets, i think the rock inlets would be good on maybe about 1/2
@PlsntVlyFarmer Nice, we have mixed success with them. If the ground is stabilized, gently rolling and a guy works at keeping them clean they are great. We have some that have been great and some we had to dig up and put risers back in
