As we reflect on this solemn anniversary, we reaffirm our commitment to protecting the Bay Area and ensuring we are ready for any challenge. Our mission is rooted in the lessons of 9/11 and driven by a shared dedication to security, coordination & resilience.
Today, on the 24th anniversary of 9/11, the Bay Area UASI honors the nearly 3,000 lives lost and stands with survivors, families & first responders. We will never forget. #NeverForget911
In response to 9/11, the Dept. of Homeland Security created the Urban Areas Security Initiative to strengthen preparedness in high-threat, high-density regions. Since then, Bay Area UASI has worked to build a safer, more resilient region through collaboration.

Realistically simulated training has proven invaluable in real-world incidents. Thanks @CountyofSonoma for hosting the North-Bay Active Attacker exercise & thanks to all of the participants (victim-actors included!). It's trainings like this that make us safer & more secure.
