Vetri Maaran to direct the film adaptation of Arivumathi's #ThamizhMurugan Starring Dhanush.
I was quite worried how Sai Abhyankkar would sync with Vetri's sensibilities but he has done a fab job in the announcement video.

#Lenin Review: An emotionally charged action drama that explores love, friendship, family, and betrayal as its subplots. The first half takes its time to settle and set up the story. A good setup is essential for these kinds of plots because you cannot rush things without a proper foundation for the drama to brew. The first half ends on a high with a couple of strong revelations.
The second half starts off well. The director holds the drama together by consistently altering his characters from white to grey and vice versa. The drama built around the main villain is engaging. Although the play is predictable, it is narrated in a way that keeps the audience invested. However, certain portions feel repetitive and draggy at times. The movie is emotionally charged, with love being the central factor. Unfortunately, the love portions are too clichéd and fail to achieve the intended emotional connection. They are not bad but could have been improved. The climax twist salvages some of these hiccups and provides a decent closure to this rural rustic tale.
Performance-wise, #AkhilAkkineni has improved a lot and carries the movie well. #BhagyashriBorse’s character is typical, but she performs convincingly. Pramod Panju is good as Vasanth, and his character transformation is handled well. Shivaji has a meaty role and delivers strongly. The rest of the cast are fine.
#Thaman is literally the pillar of this action drama. His songs are good and pleasing, though their placements are a drawback. It is his background score that makes the difference. The music is exhilarating, ferocious, and elevates the mood of the movie. The final fight sequence is particularly enhanced by the score. Cinematography is fine, and editing is decent.
Overall, Murali Krishna Abburu delivers a decent output with Lenin, a film that can be watched once in theatres.
