THE IRONY OF TODAY’S CLARITY ACT VOTE

Some Senators voted NO claiming they wanted to stop President Trump and his family from profiting from crypto.

But think about what they actually achieved.

By blocking the CLARITY Act, they didn’t stop Trump from making money from crypto.

They stopped the legislation that was supposed to establish clear rules, stronger oversight, consumer protections and ethics restrictions for the industry.

Trump can continue doing what he was already legally allowed to do.

Meanwhile, millions of American crypto holders, companies, investors and developers are left waiting for regulatory clarity once again.

If your objective was to restrict conflicts of interest, negotiate stronger ethics provisions.

Don’t kill the entire regulatory framework and then pretend the problem has been solved.

Trump wasn’t stopped today. Crypto regulation was.

This is Bonnie Pierce, a 38-year-old mother of three from St. Paul, Minnesota. Her house caught fire. She and two of her children escaped, then realized her toddler was still inside.
Bonnie went back in, found the child, but could not get out. She shielded the child with her body. She died from her burns. The child survived.
A GoFundMe for her family raised about $42,000.
By comparison, more than $1,000,000 was raised on GoFundMe for Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with killing her children.
It is a sad reflection of the society we have become.
