Despite being awarded a very competitive travel grant, I ended up not attending due to visa appointment issues. ! It frustrating and deeply annoying.

Few scientists change research area after their PhD so I thought I'd give some pros and cons. My Phd was on cancer immunotherapy & I changed to TB for my 2nd post doc. Challenges include re-establishing track record, pros = direct patient benefit, x-discipline immunology assays.

The editor asked for major revisions.

The enthusiastic reviewer emailed editor to complain that the other 2 reviewers were unfair.
