So I asked grok a few questions about Robert Kaufman’s book, “In Defense of the Bush Doctrine.” I suggested earlier today that we should not rule out “nation building” for Iran.
Interestingly, those on the anti-war left and the anti-war populist right are in bed together. I’ve seen comments on both Facebook and X by the likes of Robert Barnes and “The Hodge Twins” (both right of center) who are not happy about US involvement in the Israel/Iran conflict.
This is the problem of not having a political philosophy and in this case, one that is specifically Christian realism (or in Dr. Kaufman’s case, “moral democratic realism”) to guide one’s moral judgments with regard to international relations. For me, this is all about being viceroys as a part of penultimate justice in the here and now.
BTW, everyone should read Dr. Kaufman’s book to be informed specifically with regard to an intentionally Christian philosophy of international relations.
@ABC ABC: “Only 3% of [those] detained by U.S. [ICE] during the ... second Trump administration had a violent felony conviction”.
INA § 227(a)(1)(B): “Any alien ... present in the [U.S.] in violation of [the law] ... is deportable”; no criminal conviction or pending charges required.
Imagine a post like this, but instead of referring to an unborn baby, he’s referring to his Down Syndrome toddler. Everyone would be aghast and enraged.
Yet the only differences between a toddler and an unborn baby are age and location. These aren’t reasons to kill someone outside the womb, so they don’t work as reasons to kill someone inside the womb, either.
No euphemisms or sympathetic language can mask the reality that killing a baby is brutal, painful, and evil.
People with special needs are no less valuable - and therefore no less deserving of life - than people without special needs.
Despite Jesse’s attempt to center this murder on his and his wife’s feelings, the truth is, in every abortion scenario, the primary - and typically only - victim is the baby. He or she deserves all of our sympathy and advocacy.
Ask a woman out once you’ve known her for a good long time. Once you’ve seen Karen in normal everyday reality and just doing normal things together then that is when it’s safest to either ask out or not.
A young man working at the grocery store, probably 15 years younger than me, just boldly asked me out on a date. I told him I wasn’t single, but I admired his confidence to ask me out. He seemed proud of himself.
To all the younger men who follow me… ask women out. Keep trying. Don’t let rejection stop you. And women, even if you’re not in a position to accept, treat men with respect and encouragement if they ask you out. Together, we can promote better relations between men and women!

Why should the state endorsement some relationships and restrict others? Why not add the “P” as some are wanting to do? Why do some in that camp find that intuitively disgusting? Why not a host of relationships that even some liberals feel on edge about? And what explains that moral disgust? Liberalism and progressivism is open ended and won’t stop with how far they will push things. (James Kalb)
Tennessee Governor Bill Lee (R) signed a resolution declaring June as "Nuclear Family Month" instead of Pride month.
Happy Nuclear Family Month, Tennessee!
A reminder for youngsters like this twerp: Whatever one thinks of it, the school voucher concept was developed by free market economists like Milton Friedman and has been a mainstay of conservative politics since at least the 1980s, long before “Christian nationalism” was a thing
12 years ago, a woman made and released a viral video documenting street harassment in New York.
Liberals noticed, because their ability to notice only goes so far, that almost all of the catcallers shown were black or Hispanic. So they called her racist.
To placate the mob, she suggested white men behaved similarly and promised the release of follow-up footage. She never did. For the obvious reason that it didn’t exist.
I am so tired of the lack of gratitude for all men have done throughout history. Well, this woman’s phone and internet work thanks to men so now she has the ability to post garbage takes like this that go viral.
