@hughriminton The case of Ben Roberts Smith, and the war crimes revealed by whistleblower David McBride, were both brought to public attention by media organisations, not government investigators.
The army and the government seem more interested in protecting their own image.
Before we get into leftwing / rightwing politics, there's something more important a government needs to do: protect our democracy.
The sentencing of #davidmcbride means #AustralianLabor and @AlboMP have failed in their most important mission. #Auspol

@MikeCarlton01 Politicians (and ex politicians) should be blocked from using defamation law against others. They are powerful people, who were given government funds to promote themselves and their agendas, and given immunity from defamation, to say what they want in parliament about others.
@MikeCarlton01 An organisation that brings us TV news would normally be capable of moving fast.
You'd also expect an organisation that brings us TV news to be impeccably honest, and always reveal the truth.
@VirginAustralia : Now is your chance to ditch all 737 Max planes. It's the DC-10 of today - destroys public confidence. I stopped flying Virgin because of the 737 Max. Order A320 Neos instead. Yep, 5 yr delay. Keep older 737s + lease extras until then.

I won't be flying with @VirginAustralia anymore, now it's putting #Boeing 737 Max planes on Australian east coast routes.
How can Virgin say the Max is safe, when even Boeing has no idea if all the bolts are in place? It's inherently unsafe. #aviation

@VirginAustralia Stop taking delivery of more Boeing 737 Max planes. Dangerous aircraft. Uses fly-by-wire MCAS computer just to keep it stable. Quality control problems. Bolts missing. Engine cowling rupture risk. I've stopped flying Virgin due to the Max.

@MikeCarlton01@krysbethmoore Lachlan Macquarie was a slave owner, whose wealth came from the inheritance of plantations that were also built on slavery.
@MikeCarlton01 But where will we buy our Australian Flag towels, to wipe our sweat onto? Or our Australian Flag thongs, that Peter Dutton wanted us to place our dirty feet on? Isn't that what Peter Dutton believes the Australian flag is meant for?
@MikeCarlton01 Scott Morrison will cause taxpayers a bill of over $1 million for the by-election, just because he wants to leave before his term is up.
@MikeCarlton01@smh Why do newspapers feel they need to support any political party? Telling people how to vote undermines their credibility.
I don't want my newspaper to be a cheerleader for any political party. The newspaper's job is to tell me what's wrong with every politician.
@jonostrower@jonostrower : It's ironic that after Boeing adopted the shareholdings of McDonnell Douglas, it then adopted the culture of McDonnell Douglas, and now Boeing's biggest selling plane, the #Boeing737Max has adopted the reputation of McDonnell Douglas' biggest plane, the #DC10. 🛫
It's sad that @VirginAustralia has decided to stake its entire reputation on the #Boeing#737MAX.
We've had rudder bolts & door bolts missing on various 737 Max models. When Virgin puts the Max on east coast Australia routes I will stop flying Virgin.
