Young fanfiction writers, hey. Hey, look at me. If you hear a voice in your head telling you to use an epithet (the shorter one, the brunette, the younger one) instead of that character's name, that's the devil talking. Not even a cool one. Spray it with water.
It's ludicrous to demand such utter nonsense. Especially because it's discouraging writers and making them believe that their writing has to be neat and uniform at all times in order to be good when in fact writing is about bending the rules and getting creative.
