@Architectolder I like the white brick but there are now neighborhoods in Dallas that are 60% painted white brick because of the trend. Also the paints and german schmears damage historic bricks if applied incorrectly. A risky proposition.
@Architectolder 19th century architectural art. Wrap around porches and high ceilings/tall windows built for an era with no air conditioning. Cupolas and turrets act as natural chimneys drawing hot air up and out. We must preserve these glorious remnants of our history.
Love the stained glass windows. Interestingly/sadly many windows such as these exist in the salvage and second hand stores. I am restoring. The vintage houses get canabalized for parts as the houses are transformed into modern boxes or torn down to make way for newer construction projects.
Experimenting with rehabbing a trashed 1930s Tudor. Adding period touches to include new oak hardwood floors, raised ceilings with exposed beams, banquettes, bed niches in bedrooms, custom range hood and raised hearth fireplace. Fun!
