DESCRIPTION:
This piece means a lot to me. It tells a story from my perspective. As a guy living with a rare eye condition called Axenfeld-Rieger syndrome, this piece shows both the struggles and the good I face daily.

In the distance, a city is barely noticeable; you have to look for it. Somewhat like I have to do daily, I have to search for the things I want to see. It's there, but you have to find it. Through the darkness, a bright, colorful forest is front and center. This shows my view on life. Even though things are dark at times and sometimes I can't see the good in it, there's always a bright, beautiful place that draws me near.

At the center of the piece, there's an eye with a flaming iris. This, to me, shows my personal strength. The flaming eye signifies that even though my condition causes a lot of constraints, it's hope and determination that drive me. Even though there's darkness in my future, I still keep going!
