you poor thing. having to deal with the world as you find it. my first job was at burger king, at $2.30/hr. i drove my mom's dodge dart, when it was available. riding 8-10 miles on my bike to get somewhere was standard stuff. no cable, cell phone, internet, etc. all things are relative, and it was fine. buck up, little soldier.

size of the country has everything to do with it. our system was built via capitalism, not on muh-wants. it's the most efficient freight mover in the world. not even close. unions will double the cost and timelines no matter where your new nonsense is built. your position cannot occur without massive gov't intervention. this ain't europe, etc, where these routes are all gov't forced and subsidized. nah, i'm good.

that's an incredible performance. monologues and unchallenged. 1. he had final order to deport. 2. he wasn't just doing his job, he was fleeing ice/police. no one ever said only criminals. that's absurd. start w/ them, prioritize them......but you think we should let this guy go...after he fled and is known to be here illegally. s/ we just free anyone who doesn't have a documented criminal history (other than entering illegally). how can you be serious and give a shit about your state, or country. you do not.

of course they can spend it all. i've inherited some money. a good chunk, but not retire today, fuck you money. i do feel a sense of obligation to my mother who left that money, to not spend it all. she also paid a fair amt of my children's tuition costs. i don't really have a target per se, but i would have to make some lifestyle changing, reckless, selfish decisions to spend it all, given who i am and what i believe. my brother has said several times he'll end life with a zero balance. and he and his wife have lived pretty high on the hog for a long time. he's also made good money himself. everybody's different.

why does no one ever discuss the positive effects of free speech, beyond personal speech rights. it's good for the country. if one of your citizens is butt hurt because they were insulted, and as the gov't, your response is to interfere in free citizens communications on a mondo scale......seriously? no one is entitled to never be offended. open criticism and free speech has helped make american people/industries more resilient, adaptable, and responsive.

as long as you're paying enough to cover the death premium and cash value big enough to cover the difference. worth looking at to be sure. my kids long gone, house paid. i stopped paying premiums directly many yrs ago. policy expires in a few months. that's fine. got what i paid for and have enough to die already.

diy all depends on access. my house is 1954, 2.5 ft tall crawl space with 10 by 10 pit in middle for furnace, water heater. from the trap door to the pit is 6-7 feet, so the angle's a bitch. my in-laws are all plumbers, so i've never paid labor. it's also why there are still 2 old broken water heaters sitting in the pit along with the original gravity furnace. i ain't moving that shit.
