In a recent study led by our founder Dr @ShazhanAmed, her team examined health outcomes before and after the introduction of universal coverage of access to life-saving diabetes technology, such as continuous glucose monitors, which is typically only provided by private health plans in BC. The team found promising evidence that BC’s universal coverage to this technology, has successfully eliminated financial barriers to accessing type 1 diabetes care, but achieving equity requires a multipronged approach.
