The St. Andrew’s Bay Pilots are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Captain Phillip Brady. January 12, 2026
Captain Brady tragically died after a fall from a pilot ladder while disembarking a vessel.
He is survived by his fiancée and two young children.
Today’s #HolidayPortHeroes spotlight shines on Captain Steve Kennedy, Vice President of the @BCCoastPilots. Since 2012, Captain Kennedy has been expertly guiding vessels through the challenging waters of Canada’s West Coast. His work and others at BC Coast Pilots help to ensure that holiday gifts, seasonal decor, and festive treats reach their destinations at the Port of Vancouver safely—despite narrow passages, strong currents, and unpredictable weather.
