@WillSharp222@ibroxrocks The Gerrard of 2018 was an unproven manager, the Gerrard of 2026 has a Scottish league to his name and knows Scottish football. He is still a huge name and has authority.
McInnes did a great job at Hearts last season but still hasn’t won anything and plays defensive football.
@ibroxrocks Has to be Gerrard, the club has been crying out for him for years. He knows how to win a league, has the respect and authority required from a Rangers manager:
#BristolCity are close to appointing Michael Skubala as their new head coach. Skubala has been offered the job and is set to leave Lincoln City after achieving promotion from League One. Negotiations ongoing but close to an agreement. Three-year deal
.@piersmorgan blocked me as he can' t take a wind up. It's ok for him to have a go at the Gallagher's over Man City not winning the PL. However when you call him out as a hypocrite he throws his toys out the pram. Some say he is a social media bully.
@TheExiledRobin I get your point. As said, I’m certainly not writing him off as a manager. The job he did at Lincoln was genuinely remarkable. Best case scenario, he does a similar job here under a very limited budget. A lot harder to do in the league of parachute payments though…
@TheExiledRobin Connection definitely helps and will have been instrumental to his shortlisting. But ultimately Ellis knows who he’s serving and the budget we’ll be given. Hence why Skubala was deemed an appropriate fit. Not really an ambitious appointment but a sign of the limited budget imo.
@TheExiledRobin Ok, not exciting. He did a truly great job at Lincoln but ultimately has zero Championship experience and is just a perfect choice for Lansdown spending no money (deliberately appointed the manager that over achieved compared to his minimal budget more than anyone in the EFL).
Motherwell/Hearts…
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “No, it’s not”
Motherwell/Celtic
VAR to ref - “That’s a penalty”
Ref to VAR - “Is it? Aye, okay then”
Frightening.
▶️ Here's what happened when VAR checked if Hearts should have been awarded a penalty against Motherwell.
