While everybody is protesting about representation…Memphis has had Democratic representation in Congress since 1974.
Poverty rate: 24%, Second poorest big city in the country.
Child poverty rate: 38.8%, higher than any big city in the country
20% of adults read below a 6th grade level.
75% of students do not read at grade level.
52 years. $2 billion spent annually. No progress.
At what point do we require results and not just representation?
The South Rally in Montgomery represents everything wrong with modern politics: keeping Black Americans emotionally tied to political symbolism while avoiding honest conversations about economic empowerment, school choice, entrepreneurship, family stability, and community safety.
Too often, Black Americans are told who we must vote for instead of being shown why our vote should be earned.
Real political power comes when no party can afford to take our communities for granted. Competition creates accountability. Accountability creates results.
That’s the conversation we’re having on Front Porch Politics. 🇺🇸🪑
When one party believes it already owns the Black vote, and the other party assumes it can never win it, the only people left without real leverage are Black Americans.
Political power is built through competition. If both parties had to genuinely fight for Black votes, our communities would see more investment, more accountability, and more results.
Black voters lost political power the moment we decided to give one party 90% of our vote. Real voting power comes when no party can take your vote for granted and every politician has to compete to earn it.
The Democratic Party has taken Black voters for granted for far too long & they’re ready for a new direction. This man courageously spoke a hard truth on Friday night in Cincinnati. Get ready, Ohio Democrats. 👀
Black voters are not owned. Not controlled. Not guaranteed.
For too long, “representation” has been defined by one outcome, and one party. That’s not empowerment. That’s expectation.
Real voting rights mean real choices.
The freedom to think. The freedom to choose. The freedom to vote differently.
We are not a monolith.
We are a movement.
We are deeply troubled by the shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner this evening. Moments meant for fellowship should never be interrupted by violence. We are thankful for the safety of all attendees and grateful that the President, First Lady, and members of the Cabinet are safe.
I, alongside my Chief of Staff, was present at the Washington Hilton, and we thank God for His protection and covering over us all. “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”Psalm 46:1
Our prayers are with all those impacted and the first responders who acted swiftly. In times like these, we stand united not in fear, but in faith.
This morning I went to vote NO at the HOPE WAY polling site in Alexandria.
While checking in, I mentioned I may need to grab my driver’s license from my car. An election worker (Robin is her name) told me, “You don’t need your ID, we can verify you, you’ll be fine.”
I responded, no I need my ID.
After finding it, I checked in and said clearly that everyone should show ID.
That’s when the worker began arguing, saying “not everyone has ID, some can’t afford it, there are many reasons why.”
That’s not just inappropriate, it’s electioneering from a poll worker. Totally unacceptable.
This war needs to stop immediately, and I’m calling on everyone, Republicans & Democrats, to protest in the streets until we get an IMMEDIATE change of leadership.
405 people have been shot so far in less than a few months. We just crossed 100 victims who have died from being shot. Innocent children and civilians are being murdered, and our leaders have done nothing to make the situation any better.
This is not Iran. This is Chicago.
If you think certain influencers are suggesting Governor Ron Desantis should replace Pam Bondi as AG is just a scheme to have Jay Collins step up as governor giving him incumbent advantages in the election, you are not wrong.
Byron Donalds is THAT far ahead 🇺🇸
As the DC area begins to face heavy rain and strong winds, and I hear the rain hitting the windows, I can’t help but think about these lyrics:
“Rain came and wind blew, but my house was built on You. I’m safe with You, I’m gonna make it through. Christ is my firm foundation, the Rock on which I stand.”
And it’s bigger than just the weather.
Life will bring storms, unexpected challenges, pressure, setbacks, heartbreak, and moments where everything feels like it’s shaking. But when your life is built on a firm foundation, you don’t collapse, you stand.
The storm doesn’t determine your outcome, your foundation does.
So if you’re going through something right now, don’t panic in the rain. Don’t fear the wind. Stay rooted. Stay grounded. Stay faithful.
Because when you’re built on Him, you may bend, but you won’t break.
You’re going to make it through. 🙏
The late Rev. Jesse Jackson endorsed Juliana Stratton (D) for US Senate in Illinois
Stratton campaign: “The family of Reverend Jesse Jackson Sr., founder of the Rainbow PUSH coalition, announced that he personally endorsed Juliana Stratton. The reverend made his final endorsements and shared those preferences with the family before his passing in February.”

The ignorance on social media right now is unbelievable.
Americans are literally posting videos encouraging Iran to “attack the White House” or “go after the President instead of the rest of the world.”
You don’t have to like a President. But encouraging a hostile foreign regime to attack American leadership is reckless, un-American, and dangerous.
Frankly, behavior like that borders on domestic terrorism.
Thank God social media didn’t exist during WWI or WWII. Imagine Americans online helping enemy governments target our own country.
Stop the ignorance.
Watching some of these foreign paid influencers slowly activate into their respective roles/talking points is HILARIOUS!!
We need to create a new Oscar category!
