So this will be my last tweet from this account. It's been a pleasure interacting with you all. I will be at @BarryH_71 from now on.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@Butts1977 County said they'd be in touch in June. All I get from them is emails about lining kids/women's football

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@Butts1977 I'm not going assessing. Offered to coach but can't commit to CORE fully, didn't get a reply to my offer to help part time

[Barry H @BCHREF]

Despite still being registered, I don't even feel part of the referee family any more as my lack of activity means I have nothing to add.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

The plus side of that is that I get more time to spend with my wife and friends so isn't all bad.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

It's a bit of a shame and a little surprising that my experience and knowledge isn't being used to develop others despite my offers.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

Having taken the decision to retire last season I am still surprised that I've not had a single regret or urge to officiate.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

21 years ago today I qualified as a referee. I had an amazing career which I am very proud of despite a few ups and downs.

@clarkiesball @BerksBucksFA @ReadingRA @BBFAReferees sadly clubs have too much influence and refs are scared of upsetting them.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@clarkiesball @BerksBucksFA @ReadingRA @BBFAReferees players etc want to do whatever they want with no repercussions 😡

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@clarkiesball @BerksBucksFA @ReadingRA @BBFAReferees unfortunately it's the way football is going.

Work this afternoon for me so an easy morning and preparing my bike and kit for tomorrow's 117 mile bike ride.

[Barry H @BCHREF]

Good luck to everyone with a game today, especially those on FA Vase duty including @tav_77

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@AdamSinners @VeloBirmingham Cheers for the heads up, am already on the mailing list so will hopefully get in 😊

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@clarkiesball @slimref @AlastairHiggs @LucyOliver_7 it's not as cold as it looks but the wind is nasty. My arm warmers came in handy 🚴

Our @MontVentoux riders ready to set off on 1st stage of their 2 day journey https://t.co/pEvJUljuTC

[Barry H @BCHREF]

@AlastairHiggs @clarkiesball @slimref @LucyOliver_7 I'll be on a beach in Australia 😀

[Barry H @BCHREF]

Looks like a beautiful day for staying indoors. Don't get too cold or wet if you have a game today 😉
