Productive 2023! Ready for 2024!
In 2023, the CFD responded to more than 24,500 calls, including approximately 220 structure fires, over 9,300 EMS calls, and more than 1,900 motor vehicle crashes. In total, firefighters saved $174, 885,000 in property from fire damage.
Green Shift companies started a 24-hour shift with a house fire. At 7 AM on 12/30/23, a neighbor called 911 to report that a home was on fire in the 1200 block of E 34th St. The neighbor was unsure if anyone was inside the burning house but went to knock on the door just in case.
Monday, 11/6 This past weekend, @ChattanoogaAir issued 25 citations @ $375.00 to violators burning brush/debris!

The CFD accepted 50 LifeVac devices for our frontline apparatus & additional response vehicles. This is the result of a partnership with Hamilton Co and a Chattanooga-based charity called GregO2 that is pushing to prevent further choking deaths after a family tragedy. Thank you!!

2 cars went into the front of the Circle K on Ashland Terrace in Hixson Tues night at 7:45 PM. One vehicle, Ford SUV, was sitting in the parking lot, & the Jeep Cherokee driver appeared to pass out, striking the Ford. Jeep driver was transported to the hospital to get checked out
TN River behind Chattanooga State near the boat ramp, a female party was found in the water & rescued by CFD & CPD Tues night at 9:36 PM. Fireboat 10 responded. First responders got her out of the water, onto the boat & back to the shore where she was loaded into an ambulance.
