Ephesians 1:13-14 - Faith comes by hearing God's Word. His word has power and does what it says. He sealed your name in the Lamb's Book of Life in your baptism. You can now point back to that time and be certain that you are saved, knowing the promises in your baptism.
Amos 7:8-9 - God's uses the image of a plumb line which reveals if something is straight up and down. God's chosen people were crooked and not upright. They rejected Him and His promises to them. So God gives them what they want and treats them as those who reject Him.
Hebrews 3:3-6: "For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses—as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself… Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant… but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son."
2 Corinthians 12:5 - It is a temptation to boast in ourselves. But what we should boast in, is Christ Jesus, our God. We can boast that He is the strong one that overcame our weakness.
Ezekiel 2:1-5 - Ezekiel was called to speak to a rebellious house. Our sinful nature is rebellious and continues to cling to us. But we who are in Christ, know the voice of our Shephard. We hear His voice and cling to His promises.
Dear Saints in Christ, you are blessed! Jesus has taken your sins and covered them. Your deceit and iniquity died with Christ, and was buried with Him. You are blessed because your sin is no longer counted against you.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 - We do not have the power on our own to come to faith or trust in Christ. We are weak, and we should boast in this. We should boast in a God so gracious and loving to save us, since we can do nothing to earn it.
Mark 6:7-9 - Jesus tells the disciples to trust Him, that He would provide for them. He also provides all that we need as well, for this life and the next.
2 Corinthians 8:13-15 - During a famine, Paul asked the Corinthian church to supply the church in Jerusalem, out of their abundance. They are a model for loving and serving their neighbor by sharing when others have need.
Lamentations 3:22-26 - We are not always reliable. But God's love never changes and He is faithful even when we are not. We should put our hope in Him, His promises are certain and sure. His salvation has be won in Christ Jesus.
Mark 5:39-42-The world likes to laugh at us too. We go to a funeral and acknowledge that the person who has died in Christ is really sleeping. They will one day arise again. Jesus has conquered death.And there is a day coming where he will tell raise up all those who are sleeping
Psalm 31:23-24 - Dear Saints in Christ, God calls you to be strong. Thankfully He is the one who gives us this strength. He is the one who preserves you. This life is hard and we are waiting for Him to take us home.
2 Corinthians 8:9 - God humbled himself by becoming a man in Christ Jesus. He became a servant of all. Through His work, He has made us rich by earning for us eternal life.
Mark 5:31-34 - We receive our faith as a gift through baptism and God's Word. And just like this woman we are being healed of our disease of sin. So we can go in peace, knowing our sins are forgiven.
