PLAYERS OF THE YEAR
The Pennsylvania all-state basketball teams will be released this afternoon. It gives me a chance to remind folks who our @mcall players of the year were: @GabrielTransue of @BCSPanthersMBB and Justin Manning of @NDGP_Athletics.

Talent is great, but there’s always gonna be someone with more.
If you don’t know how to utilize that talent, then it’s a waste to have.
You must have more. It takes pillars to lead to success. For me personally, it’s:
Discipline
Accountability
Relentless Effort
Toughness
Service
It’s trying to live with those every day.
If you don’t have something to implement or someway to maximize your talent, you won’t achieve what you’re capable of.
How are you maximizing your talent?? What are you doing extra to improve??
I love Herb Brooks’ comment, “You don’t have enough talent to win on talent alone.” It takes more. It’s taking that talent, however much it may be, and improving on it every single day. You can have talent, but if you don’t have heart, toughness, a relentless pursuit, you won’t be able to overcome adversity when it hits.
It’s putting the Team over Yourself. Great teams work together. Great teams know how to utilize and maximize the talent they have. Great teams know it’s not about one person, no matter how talented they are. It’s finding ways to serve the team the best way you can.
Take your talent. Work on it daily. Develop the intangibles. Maximize that talent with a selfless attitude. That’s how you truly become great.
Thank you @KeithGroller I truly appreciate you taking the time to talk with me about @GabrielTransue, @Myles_Harris33, @DeionSwift_ & what we’ve built at BCS.
Back to work this offseason, building on the foundation our seniors laid over the past four years. The climb continues.
MATT DEJESUS
Felt bad that I couldn’t get the @BCSPanthersMBB coach some airtime on Sunday when we had our all-area boys basketball show on @LVFoxSports. So here is a separate interview with Matt, who had two honorees in @GabrielTransue and Myles Harris.
A special recognition for two of the best to wear a BCS uniform:
Gabe Transue: Morning Call Co-Player of the Year
Gabe Transue & Myles Harris: Morning Call All-Area Team
Consistent work. Elite production. Leaders on and off the floor. Built Different. Built Uncommon.

Proper preparation builds and instills confidence in the result. When you properly prepare, you can freely let go of the outcome because you know the work you have put in.
Take pride in everything that you do. It doesn’t matter how big or how small the task is, take pride in it. Be grateful for the opportunities.
Colossians 3:23 says, “Work WILLINGLY at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people.”
When you take pride in the work you do, you do things the right way. You give a little more effort. You prepare a little more. You build the consistent habits. All of that compounds into confidence when it is needed most.
When negativity creeps in, talk positive to yourself. Rest peacefully, and with pride, in the confidence of the preparation you put in.
