Bridge Foundation of Santa Cruz County was funded to provide material support to promote rehabilitation, recovery, and reentry for public defender clients.
Not everything that helps is dramatic.
This week, BRIDGE helped with phones, rain gear and clothing, and correcting a RAP sheet error that was blocking employment.
A dry sweatshirt. A working phone. An accurate record.
Small things can make a big difference.
So many systems assume you have a working phone — VA services, benefits, appointments, transportation, housing, even basic case communication.
Bridge was able to provide a phone and help our client and a US military veteran reopen access to the services trying to reach him.
A journal is more than paper.
For one young Bridge Foundation client, it is a place to process thoughts, release what feels heavy, and find peace.
We were honored to provide this simple but meaningful tool as part of her path toward healing, stability, and support.@CruzDefender
Bridge Foundation was so happy to welcome Mark Briscoe as our newest board member at our unofficial meeting spot, Mozaic in Santa Cruz.
We’re excited for what’s ahead — including a future Bridge Foundation launch event. More soon! 💛
Bridge Foundation helped a client stay near their family court hearing with temporary lodging and nearby food bank resources. Practical support like safe shelter and meals helps clients show up prepared, keeps families stable, and advances dignity and fairness. 💛 @CruzDefender
Support can be as simple as helping someone find a safe place to sleep.
Recently, Bridge Foundation helped a client pay for two nights in a hotel.

Sometimes the biggest hurdle to success is just a few mile of road. We’re so glad we could get a bus pass into the hands of one of our clients this week. Simple support. Real impact.

Little things go a long way. 💙This week, the Bridge Foundation received a generous donation of socks—simple, but meaningful for those getting back on their feet. A fresh pair brings comfort, dignity, and normalcy.

Small resources can make a big difference.
This week, we provided a client with a copy of the AA Big Book—supporting an important step in their recovery journey.
We’re proud to show up in ways both big and small to help create stability, connection, and hope. 💙@CruzDefender
The volunteer board is proud to announce the creation of the Bridge Foundation of Santa Cruz County.
We believe that with the right support and opportunities, public defender clients can rebuild their lives, reconnect with their communities, and move toward stable futures.
