Over the past eight weeks, Neriah Bean and Benjamin Crofton completed the Department of Energy's inaugural internship under the Energy Scholarship and Bursary Programme, gaining practical experience across Bermuda's evolving energy sector.

From contributing to energy policy discussions to exploring innovative energy and digital finance solutions, the internship provided valuable hands-on learning while helping prepare the next generation of Bermudian energy professionals.

The Government remains committed to investing in local talent and building the skills needed to power Bermuda's energy future.

Minister of Youth, Social Development and Seniors, the Hon. Tinée Furbert, recently joined Bermuda's PeerForward student leaders at the PeerForward Summer Leadership Workshop at Virginia Commonwealth University, where students from The Berkeley Institute and CedarBridge Academy participated alongside peers from across the United States.

The workshop celebrated the 30th anniversary of PeerForward and the fifth year of the Mirrors Programme's international partnership, equipping students with leadership skills, expanding their networks, and preparing them to inspire their peers to pursue higher education, career success, and lifelong achievement.

The Director of Public Prosecutions, Ms. Cindy E. Clarke, has become the first Bermudian to address the Caribbean Court of Justice (CCJ), presenting Bermuda's legal experience on an important Commonwealth criminal law issue.

Joined by Acting Deputy Director Adley G. Duncan and Crown Counsel Denzelle Swan, Ms. Clarke's appearance highlighted Bermuda's contribution to regional jurisprudence and showcased the strength and expertise of the Department of Public Prosecutions.

The Government of Bermuda extends warm congratulations to Mrs. Eloise Furbert on the occasion of her 100th birthday.

A distinguished educator, Justice of the Peace, and community leader, Mrs. Furbert dedicated her life to shaping generations of Bermudians through education and public service. As part of Breastfeeding Awareness Week, the Department of Health is hosting a private, hands-on class designed to help breastfeeding mothers learn effective hand-expressing techniques.

Facilitated by Feven Binega-Northcott of Harmony Birth Services, this practical session will provide guidance, support and confidence for mothers on their breastfeeding journey.

From 1 September 2026, the Government is increasing the Child Day Care Allowance for eligible families with two or more children in day care through the Child Day Care Allowance Amendment Regulations 2026.

The changes are designed to help ease the rising cost of child care, improve access to quality early childhood care, and support more parents to remain in the workforce.
