📣 We are beyond excited to announce that the first guest of this special series is Joeli Brearley, Founder and Director of @PregnantScrewed.

The list goes on, but those three should be high up on the agenda now, given the lack of economic growth, a dearth of workers and an ageing population. Having children shouldn’t be a luxury. The predicted ROI on the above far outweighs the costs. It’s a no-brainer.
#IWD2023
As a working mother, this #InternationalWomensDay, I’d like to emphasise that there are wider societal and economic benefits of:
1. Inclusive workplace maternity policies.
2. Affordable childcare.
3. Access to resources to cope with the mental/ physical changes of motherhood.
@PregnantScrewed has filled a much needed gap in spotlighting pregnancy discrimination + campaigns tirelessly to end the motherhood penalty. I had the immense privilege of interviewing Joeli Brearley for @BDFpodcast last year: https://t.co/NXUIG5WvZ3
Solidarity to all the mummies (and daddies) marching today for better childcare and support for working families. I’m there with you in spirit. @PregnantScrewed #MarchOfTheMummies
...be fed up, you could be stressed, but you have to find the answer. And you have to come down to their level with the way that you communicate.”
“The beautiful thing is, you’re always learning from your children…”
In celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth, the final guests of season 5 are Alison Burton + Natalie Duvall, founders of @marchmuses which produces gifts representing people of colour and received backing from Dragons' Den's @dragonjones and @DeborahMeaden.

Natalie & Alison also frankly share their experiences with motherhood:
“As a parent, you’re winging it every day, because you don’t know what you’re going to be faced with and you have to find a solution for it at that moment. You could be tired, you could be hungry, you could...
Yesterday was #WorldMentalHealthDay and we sat down with Katie Pearson who spoke frankly about life as a stay-at-home mum, “mum guilt” and how she manages her anxiety and negative thoughts.
One important piece of advice she has for expectant/ new mothers: be kind to yourself.
@ambitiousmamas describes herself as a #Feministmother: “It’s about putting that oxygen mask on yourself first before putting it on your child, and that way, you can not only be the best version of yourself but you can be the best for your child. It’s about empowered mothering.”
We also examine the #motherhoodpenalty, assumptions and prejudices in the workforce, how austerity has rested disproportionately upon mothers from economically deprived groups, and the hollowness that comes with becoming an #emptynester.
🎙Our next guest is the fabulous @ambitiousmamas - South Asian midlife influencer and blogger who talks candidly about #motherhood, #feminism and transforming the female midlife crisis into a happy phase in life. Listen to the full episode here: https://t.co/iWPT7nd6S8
