Bangladesh Samity has been active since 1976 in the promotion of unity between the Bangladeshi people residing in Scotland & with all the people of Scotland.
Good luck to Scotland Transplant Football at the Four Nations tournament in Dingwall.
We are proud to see Scotland Transplant Football not only hosting this important tournament in Scotland, but also honouring donors and raising awareness about the importance of organ and transplant donation.
I would also like to highlight Jelina Berlow-Rahman, who became the first female to play for Scotland Transplant Football at the Euros in Oxford last year. Despite her decline in health, she continues to be part of the team, showing remarkable strength and dedication.
Sport keeps us mentally and physically healthy, something I supported long before entering politics and will continue to champion in the future.
The Bangladeshi community warmly welcomes the amazing work of Kids Operating Room improving access to safe surgery for children worldwide.
Inspiring to see Scottish leadership changing young lives across 38 countries.

A pleasure to welcome @GlasgowPam MSP and @BrianWhittle MSP to our exhibition stall at the Scottish Parliament today.
We spoke about the experiences of young carers across Scotland and the importance of ensuring they are recognised and supported to reach their potential.
Good to see @BillKiddSNP , @EmmaHarperMSP , @jackiebmsp and @FoysolChoudhury stop by our exhibition stall at the Scottish Parliament.
We shared insights from young carers across Scotland and highlighted the importance of continued support to help them balance caring,
Young and young adult carers joined MSPs and the First Minister @JohnSwinney at @scotparl today to mark Young Carers Action Day. @scotgov
Together we’re calling for Fair Futures for Young Carers - ensuring every young carer has the support they need to learn, grow and thrive.
This week I met with @humaneworlduk to hear about their campaign to end the use of farrowing crates on pig farms across the United Kingdom.

While we’re engaged in one of the most difficult and heartfelt debates in Scottish Parliament history on Assisted Dying, I want to thank brother @HumzaYousaf for organising a wonderful Iftar. Delicious food from Kababish Edinburgh!

Yesterday at #PQ I pressed the Scottish Government on the reality facing NHS Lothian and local care services. With staff stretched and demand rising, we need a clear plan for properly resourced, publicly delivered care, not more reliance on burnout and private stopgaps.

Right now, more than 1 in 5 children in Scotland are still living in poverty, a reality that cannot be ignored.
This #DebtAwarenessWeek Aberlour Children’s Charity is urging the next Scottish Government to move beyond managing poverty and commit to ending it, by taking meaningful action to support Scotland’s most disadvantaged children, young people, and families.

It’s been an honour to serve as an MSP and to represent the Lothians over the last 5 years. Thank you to everyone who shared their experiences and allowed me to stand alongside them, I’m truly grateful.

Today at the Members’ Business debate on Sport and Activity as a Force for Good, I spoke about the vital role that sport has played in my own life and the positive impact it continues to have on individuals and communities across Scotland.
I also raised concerns about rising costs, unequal access, and the loss of local facilities, which are preventing many children from participating. I firmly believe that sport is not a luxury, but a necessity for building a healthier, more connected, and resilient Scotland.

Today at #PQ I asked the Minister what specific analysis has been carried out on potential changes to response times in the North-East of Edinburgh if the proposed closure of Marionville fire station goes ahead?

I was delighted to speak with the team of @OptomScotland at their exhibition on the Scottish Parliament.
Around 1 in 30 people in Scotland are living with significant sight loss, and over half of these cases are preventable or treatable.
With the right investment, we have a real opportunity to do things differently. A national community-based low vision service could transform lives — helping people maintain their independence, improving day-to-day quality of life, and reducing pressure on hospital eye services.
Today marked my final question of the term at the Scottish Parliament.
With the City of Edinburgh Council housing 42% of Scotland’s children in temporary accommodation in 2025, and rough sleeping having doubled over the past three years- I asked the Scottish Government what urgent action is being taken to eradicate child homelessness and tackle poverty, both in Lothian and across the country.
Proud to lodge this motion recognising the significance of Eid al-Fitr — a time of reflection, generosity, and community.

As part of the Social Justice and Housing Portfolio, I also asked the Scottish Government what steps it is taking to tackle child poverty. A strong plan must be in place to meet the 10% child poverty target by 2031.
