Refinery hit in Moscow , bombers take off from UK, airport hit near Riyadh, emergency alerts across west Asia and now reports of North Korea launching a suspected ballistic missile - doomsday weekend building up well.
US B-1 bombers took off from RAF Fairford in southern England shortly after midnight, as tensions across the Middle East escalate once again.
The bombers are seen departing the runway, but their destination and mission remain unclear.
The move comes hours after Yemen’s Houthis launched a barrage of missiles and drones towards Saudi Arabia, claiming to target sensitive sites in Riyadh as well as an Aramco facility in Yanbu. Saudi Arabia says it intercepted a ballistic missile targeting the capital, while flames and thick black smoke are seen near King Khalid International Airport.
Amid the escalating tensions, US President Donald Trump also cut short his stay at Camp David and returned to Washington DC.
Trump’s ill conceived war on Iran - one he can neither end nor win nor leave - creates an energy crisis for large parts of the world by choking Hormuz; USA then worsens it by sanctioning 100 percent tariffs on India and others who buy oil from Russia - the hypocrisy is staggering. Now as america prepares for bombing of the Houthis, expect retaliation from them on refineries across the region and a complete mess over the entire airspace - debilitating for aviation and the economy. What an absolute mess - doesn’t USA see what it’s done and doing ?
Amid dramatic escalation expected in US-Iran War, Trump signs the 100% tariff sanctions bill into law. If operationationalised -"India relations with US could fall off a cliff"- argues @horror06 as Amb Sinha says "India must stand up to a bully". In full https://t.co/ANV5IKzZHc
A 19-year-old IIT Bombay student is dead after an exam incident involving a phone and ChatGPT, and now 400+ students are protesting on campus. IIT Bombay says he was counselled, assured there would be no academic consequences and faced no disciplinary action. Students allege he was threatened with suspension; his parents allege harassment and caste discrimination.
Those claims need investigation, but the contradiction is stark: no disciplinary action, says the institute; fear of suspension, say students. And this is not an isolated campus story. At least six reported student suicides have occurred across IIT Bombay, Delhi and Kharagpur in roughly six months. We keep asking what happened to these students.
Maybe we need to ask what happened around them.

He was seventeen years old. And in a single moment, he lost everything.
@sjlazars was just a teenager when Air India Flight 182, the Kanishka, exploded over the Atlantic Ocean. His father. His mother. His infant sister. All three, gone in an instant.
329 people were on that flight. Not one survived.
Lazar didn't just lose his family that day. He spent 25 days in a makeshift morgue in Cork, Ireland, sifting through bodies and body parts, searching for the people he loved.
Forty-one years later, he's still searching. For answers. For justice.
And now, Canada wants to close the file.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police is reportedly considering making the case "inactive," citing a lack of fresh leads. For families like Lazar's, that word feels like a betrayal.
In a letter to Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, Lazar didn't hold back. He called the move a disgrace to the memory of 329 innocent lives. He's demanding the investigation continue, with new experts, if the current team has run out of leads. He's asking for the reward for information, unclaimed since 1995, to be renewed and increased.
Because in over four decades, this case has produced just one conviction.
And here's what makes this even harder to accept. While the victims' families wait for closure, Khalistani extremism is not fading. It's spreading. Canada's own intelligence agency has now called Khalistani extremists a national security threat, with networks raising funds and stoking violence from Canadian soil. Similar patterns have surfaced in the UK and Australia, from temple attacks, to violent protests outside Indian missions, to Khalistani sympathizers gaining political footholds.
For Sanjay Lazar and families like his, this isn't history. It's an open wound.
And now, they're asking the one question no one can answer: how do you close a case that was never really solved?
A 28-year-old Sikh truck driver was stabbed 17 times inside a restroom at a Wyoming highway rest stop, in an attack that has now prompted calls for a possible hate-crime investigation.
Gurvinder Singh says a stranger followed him into the bathroom, punched him and repeatedly stabbed him in the neck, chest, arms and ribs. Singh survived the attack and was taken to hospital. The accused, 45-year-old Andrew Kris Bzdak, has been arrested and charged with attempted first-degree murder. Police have not established a motive.
The attack has drawn added scrutiny because, days earlier, the US Department of Homeland Security had posted a graphic depicting a Sikh-looking man as “Mr Singh” alongside the message: “Get off our roads; you don’t know how to drive, Mr Singh.” DHS later deleted the post following criticism from Sikh and Indian-American organisations.
Sikh groups are now urging authorities to examine whether the attack was motivated by anti-Sikh or anti-Indian sentiment. DHS has said the two incidents are unrelated.
The motive behind the stabbing remains under investigation.
Fifty years later, a group of old school friends turned back the clock, returning to their alma mater in their school uniforms and recreating cherished moments from their childhood.
What began as a reunion became a nostalgic trip down memory lane, as the friends relived their student days and celebrated a bond that has endured for five decades.

Yuvraj Singh Manchanda vanished days before his wedding. Ten days later, his family learnt he had been shot dead — after Gurugram Police had recovered and cremated an unidentified body without informing them. The family alleges serious lapses, including delayed uploading of the body details on ZIPNET. Police say the body was extremely decomposed and that due procedure was followed. But questions remain: Who sent messages from Yuvraj’s phone after he disappeared? Why did his family learn of his death only after the cremation? And why hasn’t the post-mortem report been shared with the family? MOJO Special Report by @szaffariqbal and Madan Lal | Watch In Full | https://t.co/9IwOY3Hw4s
