@pt_hutch I also find that explaining simply where and why I am travelling helps them deal with the separation better. For kids it teaches them emotional intelligence and patience and delayed gratification - so I have learned from research and observed in practice.
@pt_hutch I find it painful too. To (re)balance, I choose to incessantly stick to the moto "you got to do what you got to do". Before and after travel, I block time out to spend actively with the loved ones and make it non-negotiable. 🙂

On behalf of the @UNSierraLeone, I want to applaud the effort of George Hindolo Pokawa, a Sierra Leonean who walked 315 miles from Kailahun, eastern Sierra Leone to the Cotton Tree in Freetown. George did the walk as a way of campaigning against rape and other forms of SGBV.
