A space for interdisciplinary researchers to grow ideas through from design to manufacture, instrumentation & testing alongside advanced computational modelling
@arora_lab and @bioflowresearch, the BEST Lab leads, chaired #BioMedEng23 last week. The lab members put in a huge effort to deliver the event @SwanseaUni. Some also got the chance to showcase their work amongst the fantastic research from across the @BioMedEngAssoc community!
A new PhD scholarship opportunity is now open to join the Team working with @arora_lab. This project is focused on digital image correlation (DIC) measurement method optimisation for materials testing at cryogenic temperatures. https://t.co/S7BARl5LKF
Had a fun and productive day at Cardiff Uni giving a seminar on lung and cardio research and discussing new collaborative opportunities. Was a decent day to be outside, so took a detour on the way to catch the train home
Merry Xmas from the BESTies! Survivors photo at the end of our team night out. Tho missing a fair few of the team in the pics, we are thankful to all members for making this year so wonderful! We extend warm wishes to all and look forward to more fun like this in the new year!
We will be @The_Waterfront for #SwanseaSciFest all weekend to talk about the wide range of activities in the lab including work characterising heart valves, brain biomechanics and surgical phantoms. Come meet a few of the team and see all the fantastic exhibits on show!
🌟 Exciting News! 🌟 We are thrilled to announce the opening and plenary speakers for the 8th International Conference on Computational and Mathematical Biomedical Engineering (#CMBE24) at George Mason University in Arlington, Virginia, USA, on June 24-26, 2024. #Biomedical#GMU
@arora_lab is @IITKanpur representing the @BEST_Lab_SU for research focused on digital twins as well as recent advances in experimental mechanics delivered by the research group.
After a productive first day of technical talks @IITKanpur, we generated lots of exciting research ideas for collaboration with our colleagues across @SwanseaUni. We are thankful for the opportunity to represent @SUSciEng and looking forward to continued discussions today.
The programme for #BioMedEng23 is now online.

Thanks @ESBiomech for the great conference The team from @SUSciEng enjoyed making so many connections over this week and are heading home happy. See you next year!
Enjoying my experience @ESBiomech conference with 7 members of the @BEST_Lab_SU. Great to reconnect with familiar faces and meet many new ones during this event. Lots of great discussions across project areas including on some of our collaborative lung imaging research on day 1.
Great to see the breadth of work from our @BEST_Lab_SU ECRs @ESBiomech on heart valves, surgical training devices, lung health and large vessel networks using techniques ranging from mechanical testing and digital image correlation to computational mechanics and machine learning
We are representing @BEST_Lab_SU today @MWConnects. We will be sharing research activities and capabilities found in the lab, department @SwanBioMedEng and faculty @SUSciEng.
Great to see the opening of the new exhibition @OrielScience a few weeks ago. Already getting positive messages and enquiries about research happening in the @BEST_Lab_SU. Pleased to see the results of all the hard work put in by the group to bring this display concept to life!
Abstract submission for #BioMedEng23 at @SwanseaUni is open!
Come and be part of the UK’s largest gathering of Biomedical Engineers, Medical Engineers and Bioengineers – submit your abstract here https://t.co/n0KKB25dmO
