The attendance for the GOP gubernatorial primary in Maine was the highest since the tea party in 2010.

However, Graham Platner, a Democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate, received more votes than all eight GOP contenders and more than any Democratic primary senatorial candidate since Maine started using popular vote to pick senators.
