Happy BFC History Sunday! A little look back at one of many fond moments of the chorus, shared by Bass 1, Richard Pulham:

In October 1988 BFC took The Music Makers and Belshazzar’s Feast on tour to The Netherlands with the Brabant Orchestra. It was back in the heady days when BFC did many tours throughout Europe and beyond and 4 performances took place in s’Hertogenbosch, Eindhoven, Tilburg and Breda.

Conductor, Norman Del Mar was an ebullient travelling companion and the Chorus invited him to join them for a meal on a free evening following an afternoon concert. On hearing that he had a passion for ice cream, members of the Chorus ordered the largest one from the menu which arrived with sparklers. Here’s a photo of that memorable evening.

We like to think our performance of The Music Makers at The Anvil next Sunday, 4pm, will be just as sparkling.
