In the very early hours this morning, the Massachusetts House of Representatives passed “An Act relative to the reduction of certain toxic chemicals in firefighter personal protective equipment.”
Mat Troy, a Boston firefighter, was diagnosed with the illness in September of 2022, but his positive attitude never changed, even during his final weeks in the hospital.
