Only lord knows why OBN decided to air that nonsense today of all times but I wonder if there is anybody with any sense in this regime. Can so many ppl collectively be this insensitive or be so spineless? Does no one stand up to the guy? Oromo, what have we done?😫
Holding opposition leaders in solitary confinement is a pure psychological warfare to break their will. It will not work nor will it break the will of millions. Release them all. #FreeJawarMohammed#FreeBekelaGarba#OromoProtests
Call it whatever you like but my generation and I will never stop resisting oppression or bringing to light the wanton destruction of our identity & our way of life. As long as there is breath in my body, I will speak up for my people. Period! #OromoProtests#HaacaaluuHunddeessaa
Rene Lenore’s,stmt is incorrect. Oromo’s are not going throu ‘intra ethnic conflict’ We are united against domination of 1 language, culture and subjugation of any forms We are fighting against anti federalist forces that want to Rtrn Ethio to the ooutdated system
#OromoProtests
Members of Minnesota’s Oromo community continued protests today in Minneapolis nearly 2 weeks after singer #HaacaaluuHuundeessaa was killed in Ethiopia. Thread of photos here—
During the march through downtown, the protesters called for release of prisoners arrested by the Ethiopian government, including former Minnesotan media mogul Jawar Mohammed, as well as the US government to stop giving aid to Ethiopia.
The priority of the Ethiopian state is on par with the alt-right, ultra racist, confederate fanatics in the US. They respond quicker to a statue that was toppled on another continent than to a political & social crises & daily loss of lives at home & this is why #OromoProtests
Haacaaluu wouldn’t care for a statue of himself nor for any of the pretentious BS happening in his name. Haacaaluu would want justice & truth to prevail. He would want peace & freedom for all. If you want to honor him, you would stand up to tyranny. You would end this madness!!
“Death is something inevitable. When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people and his country, he can rest In Peace” N. Mandela. #HaacaaluuHunddeessaa rest easy king. You have done more to raise our consciousness than anyone in our lifetime.
Still expecting you to pop up out of nowhere to say something ridiculously witty and crack your beautiful smile. Still expecting a “giifti jirtanii?” Or a “ijoollee Oromo jirtuu?”💔💔💔💔Maal goonaree!!! Rest in Power Haacee♥️#HaacaaluuHundeessaa
Still hasn’t fully sank in that we lost #HaacaaluuHundeessaa exactly a week ago today. It’s more infuriating to watch his last interview, where he was asked to justify that he had Oromo’s interest at heart. Patriotism is not something you can give and take.
In his last interview, Haacaaluu said, “No one can buy me. I am very valuable 4 my people” and as I sit here trying to come terms with our loss, I’m comforted by the fact that he knew how loved & valued he was. He is still one of our most valuable assets♥️#HaacaaluuHundeessaa
