- An opaque MOU signed on stealth mode in January 2024 with Somaliland in flagrant violation of Somalia's sovereignty and territorial integrity!
- Audacious statement in the House of People's Representatives few days ago arguing that Ethiopia can indeed "invade and annex sovereign coastal territories of its neighbour in the Red Sea a la Golan Heights"! and,
- Reuters revelation these days on the regime's reported hosting of RSF training camp in south western Ethiopia under the bidding of UAE!
Potemkin Party's regional policy seems to be increasingly rudderless and at odds with, and in contravention of, established norms and parameters of good neighbourliness, international law, and the AU Constitutive Act.

Good Read: Blame without Shame: Potomkin Party (PP) Accuses Eritrea to Hide Failures
"By waging a campaign of hostility and irredentism over the past two years, Ethiopia’s ruling party has brazenly defied the core principles of international law — principles designed to prevent war — choosing instead aggression disguised as grievance and ambition cloaked in diplomacy".

@AligidirEritrea Assab has been a long standing day dream (ቅዥት) of successive Ethiopian leaders. Beshasha "boy king's" Assab elusions are thus nothing new.
Isayas led ሻዕቢያ brought about the end of much craftier & smarter leaders. Removing clumsy Beshasha 'boy king' will be a child's play
Ethiopia’s central government under Abiy Ahmed is unraveling. Field Marshal Berhanu Jula has openly conceded that even a change of regime would not stabilize the country—an implicit admission that state collapse is imminent. To divert attention from mounting crises, Abiy is picking territorial fights with Somalia, ratcheting up war talk against Eritrea, and dragging Ethiopia into a Cold War–style standoff with Egypt.
At the same time, the situation on the ground is dire:
Amhara communities are still being targeted, with drone strikes and mass arrests unchecked.
Oromia is engulfed in conflict as OLA‑Shene exploits the federal government’s weakness.
The economy is spiraling, with runaway inflation and looming debt defaults.
Meanwhile, Fano resistance forces are gaining momentum and scoring significant victories. Ethiopian troops are being killed or surrendering in growing numbers, while Fano captures more weapons from federal forces—rapidly shifting the balance of power. This dynamic helps explain the recent admissions by Abiy and Berhanu Jula. Their statements are not just warnings—they’re tacit acknowledgments that they can no longer control Ethiopia. Regime collapse appears imminent, and attention is now being directed toward what follows.
Yet U.S. policy has remained vague. Washington voices concern but imposes no real consequences for war crimes, applies no leverage to force inclusive dialogue, and has no plan if militias or a coup overrun Addis Ababa. Senator Marco Rubio has criticized Abiy’s authoritarian tilt, but will the United States:
• Suspend security assistance until atrocities cease?
• Support U.N. investigations into crimes in Amhara and Tigray?
• Prepare sanctions for officials obstructing negotiations?
Ethiopia's fragility demands urgent action. While Sudan's collapse serves as a warning, Ethiopia's potential disintegration would have far greater regional consequences. Current diplomatic approaches appear insufficient to halt this trajectory.
A critical factor being overlooked is Eritrea's unique position to influence stability in Ethiopia. No sustainable solution can emerge without acknowledging Asmara's role and interests in the region. A more inclusive regional strategy that engages all key stakeholders - including Eritrea - offers the best path forward.

President Donald Trump has sent a letter to President Isaias Afwerki, on July 30 this week, underlining that he is "reversing the negative, harmful damage of the Biden Administration around the globe".
In his message that also expresses appreciation for President Isaias' letter of Congratulations of November last year, President Trump referred to his Administration's readiness to re-establish a respectful and productive national relationship between the US and Eritrea "based on honesty, respect, and opportunities to improve peace and prosperity across the Horn of Africa and the Red Sea".
As it will be recalled, President Isaias had sent a warm message of Congratulations to President Trump in November last year on his "historic comeback and election as the 47th President of the United States of America...at a very crucial time when global peace is of paramount importance more than ever before".
President Isaias had at the time expressed his hopes that President Trump's "election will open a new chapter of fruitful and constructive ties of cooperation between Eritrea and the US".
Joint delegation composed of Ms. Loiuse Haxthausen, the Director of UNESCO Regional Office for Eastern Africa; and, Ms. Sandra Macharia, Regional Director of UN Information Service, are visiting Eritrea and have already met with Foreign Minister Osman Saleh; the Minister of Finance and National Development, Dr. Giorghis Teklemichael; and the Commissioner of Culture and Sport, Amb. Zemede Tekle.
Discussions centered on potential cooperation on preservation and propagation of Eritrea's rich historical heritage; support for ongoing archaelogical excavations as well as in the areas of cultural and ecotourism.
Delegation will be visiting important historical sites and have additional meetings with relevant Ministries on similar themes.
#Eritrea's decades-long, principled, & firm positions/track record on promotion of regional peace, stabillity and cooperation are predicated on the following fundamental pillars & bedrock of international law:
*Unequivocal respect for the sovereignity, territorial integrity, independence and cohesion of the countries in the region;
*Rejection and opposition to intereferences in the internal affairs of the countries in the region under any pretext or justification;
*Coordination of joint efforts to achieve regional stability as well as for the creation of a conducive climate for joint and sustainable development.
*These policy perspectives are invariably invoked and - grosso modo - enshrined, in multiple forums/position statements to which Eritrea has been a party to in the past; notably: the Forum of the Littoral States of the Red Sea and Bab-el Mandab; the Triparite Eritrea, Ethiopia and Somalia Joint Statement of 5 September 2018; as well as the Joint Statement of the Tripartite Summit (Eritrea, Egypt, Somalia) of 10 October 2024 last week.
In the event, the knee-jerk reactions & flawed perspectives peddled by hired lobbyists/self-styled pundits belie sinister agendas alien to enduring stability and cooperation in the Horn of Africa/Red Sea region on the basis of law and common sense. #LinkedIn

On the invitation of the Eritrean Government, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and his delegation arrived in Asmara in the evening hours today for a three-day official visit.
President Hassan S. Mohamud and his delegation, which includes Foreign Minister Ahmed Moalim Fiqi, were accorded warm welcome by President Isaias Afwerki on their arrival at Asmara International Airport.
The two Heads of State will discuss further enhancement of all-rounded bilateral ties of cooperation that exist between the two countries as well as regional and international issues of mutual interest.
President Isaias Afwerki and President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud held extensive talks on bilateral, regional and international issues of common interest at State House yesterday evening.
The two leaders underscored the imperative of further bolstering the bilateral cooperation of the two sisterly countries in the heavy tasks of the maintenance of the sovereignity, territorial integrity, independence, and unity of Somalia; which remains a prerequisite for its development against the backdrop of enormous challenges in the past two decades.
In this context, the two leaders noted that building a strong and developed nation is invariably predicated on robust and sovereign institutions, including a viable defense and security architecture.
Eritrea's modest contribution in the training of the Somali national army is aligned with these policy objectives and the two sides agreed to expand their cooperation in other relevant areas to address other challenges of nation-building.
Congrats for Inspiring Results! Eritrea has already clinched 3 Gold; 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medals on the first day of Individual Time Trials (ITT) at the 12th African Continental Championships in Eldoret; Kenya.
As it happens/the tally so far is:
* Keven Teklemarian won Gold while Nahom Efrem won Bronze at the African CC Men Junior (MJ)- ITT;
* Betiel Efrem won Gold Medal at the African CC Women Junior ( WJ) - ITT;
* Suzana Fisehaye won Gold while Adiam Dawit won Silver at the African CC Women Under 23 (WU) - ITT.
Too bad for Heego and their crook lobbyist gods. After 30years, now they have the answer.

President Isaias Afwerki and his delegation met today Chinese Prime Minister Li Qiang and discussed prospects and concrete modalities of further strengthening the bilateral ties which have seen rapid progresss in the past years as well as China's potential constructive role in Africa and the Horn of Africa region.

Today May 24 2024 is Eritrea's Independence Day. Congratulations to the Eritreans on this special day. It's important to recognize the sacrifices made by the people of Eritrea to gain and maintain their independence and sovereignty.
Eritrea is part of the Global South. Among the over one hundred countries in this region, very few have achieved significant economic growth through their own efforts while preserving their sovereignty, national pride, and security. China is one of these countries. Most other countries are known for selling out their national interests, honor, and sovereignty to foreign powers through their elites.
These countries, manipulated by Western powers, suffer the worst political, economic, and social outcomes. Their lands are plagued with death and destruction. Hunger, maladministration, and corruption are rampant. They become dumping grounds for cheap goods and cultural products. The rule of law and human and democratic rights are ignored by their ruling elites, who are supported by the West.
Ethiopia, once known as the beacon of African independence, has, especially in the last 30 years, become a country manipulated by Western powers through its political elites. This has resulted in poverty, ethnic conflict, human rights abuses, internal displacement, and a weakened sovereignty.
As Eritrea celebrates its Independence Day, it is essential to note that Eritrea, like most nations in the Global South, faces various political, economic, and social problems. However, Eritrea's challenges are unique. Eritrea's struggle is marked by its determination to avoid Western domination, choosing the path of self-reliance in all national affairs to defend its sovereignty, economic growth, and social development.
This choice is unpopular in a world dominated by hierarchical powers. Eritrea's effort to create a strong political, economic, and security foundation based on self-reliance is opposed by those who benefit from controlling smaller nations. Foreign powers, using regional surrogates, have tried to thwart Eritrea's efforts, causing undue sacrifice.
Despite these challenges, Eritrea's struggle has gained recognition. Some African leaders and people understand the necessity of such sacrifices to maintain independence and sovereignty and to build a fair and just society.
Eritrea's path is not easy and cannot be travelled in isolation. The journey is made difficult by constant foreign interference in the Horn of Africa and the willingness of regional elites to serve as surrogates to foreign powers. It requires unity and cooperation among the region's people and countries. The alternative path, well-trodden since colonial independence, has turned Africa into a difficult place for its children.
Eritrea has chosen a different path: self-reliance. This path, though challenging, is seen as the only sustainable option. As we celebrate Eritrea's Independence Day, we should reaffirm Eritrea’s commitment to this challenging path, recognize the necessity of sacrifices for independence and sovereignty, and work towards genuine cooperation and unity to foster a conducive regional climate for other nations and people to adopt this route.
