On press freedom, the Maltese Government has a very steep hill to climb. News that it is supporting wide exceptions to spy on journalists is disconcerting. I urge all governments to make working conditions better, not worse, for journalists.

In the #EPlenary we confirmed our @EPPGroup led deal on the #SocialClimateFund with a large majority. This decision is good news for our climate and for citizens. With a fund of €86.7 billion, it will ensure a fair and socially inclusive climate transition for all Europeans.

We knew the institutions were hijacked. But it is no less shocking seeing the extent of the rot printed in black and white.

Not only should this publication lead to mass resignations. Those involved should be prosecuted for derailing the justice they were charged with securing.
