Dr. T. Srinivasa Kumar (@tummalasrini), Secretary, Ministry of Earth Sciences (MoES), interacted with senior officials and officers of the Ministry during an introductory meeting held at Arnav Hall, MoES Headquarters in New Delhi.

The interaction provided an opportunity for officials to brief the Secretary on their respective areas of work, assignments and progress being undertaken at the Ministry.

Shri Sreenivasa Rao Gangi Reddy, Joint Secretary, MoES, also joined the meeting. Discussions focused on the Ministry’s ongoing work, priorities and the need for coordinated efforts across different sections.

The meeting enabled the Secretary to elaborate on the Ministry’s vision, functioning, and ongoing activities, while facilitating greater coordination among officials towards the Ministry’s objectives.

The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet has approved the appointment of Dr. Srinivasa Kumar Tummala (@tummalasrini) as the Secretary, @moesgoi.

Currently serving as the Head of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWMS) Secretariat at UNESCO's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission in Perth, Australia, the newly appointed secretary brings over three decades of expertise in remote sensing, satellite oceanography, coastal hazard mitigation, disaster management, and Indian Ocean research.
