This year BGS has raised £7,208.24 for @teamUWS. With the Government Aid Match Scheme anything raised between 21st April and 21st July is doubled and so the final figure is a fantastic £12,664! Thank you to everyone in our community who has donated money and supported events.
On Friday afternoon, year 12 students from BGS and @BedfordSchool came together to play rounders and raise money for our school charities, @FacesBedford and @teamUWS. It was the perfect combination of sunshine, sport and socialising, while raising over £400 for good causes.
Our Year 12 students have now returned to Shackleton Primary twice a week to support students with their reading and literacy skills. The primary students look forward to seeing our students and our students have enjoyed inspiring a love of learning and building relationships.
As a final event to raise money for Bedford Women’s Centre, the Service Team arranged a pizza and games evening for the Sixth Form. With Just Dance, Wii, Twister, and table tennis as well as more traditional games, they had great fun AND raised money for a brilliant local charity
As part of our World Book Day celebrations last week, our students brought in good quality second hand books which will be donated to BRASS (Bedford Refugee & Asylum Seeker Support) @bedfordrefugee
