We’ve been getting #BGSImaginative in #BGSEnglish, with a Year 12 Literature students taking part in a Persuasion themed bake-off! As Austen said, “Go and eat and drink a little more, and you will do very well.”

Huge congratulations to our #BGSBold debating team who took part in the first round of the ESU Mace competition yesterday evening. The judges were impressed with all 3 speakers and the girls have made it through to the second round in January! #BGSEnglish

#BGSYear12 IB students have been exploring the key concept of transformation by producing poems based on ‘Bonjour Tristesse’, a French novel studied in translation.

#BGSYear11 had a go at some found poetry this morning, using their study text 'The Whale Rider' as a source text. The lyrical nature of the prose makes it a great choice, and this task helps us see the text from a new angle. #BGSThinksDifferently

#BGSYear7 are developing their speaking and listening skills, trying to develop their writing from a character’s perspective. We are being #BGSInspired by our learning about Malala in #BGSEnglish to explore how to use our voices for good!

7CEU took us towards the conclusion of the play, righting the wrongs and helping everyone end happily ever after (as they should, in a comedy!)

7CAB‘s excellent performance included lots of misunderstandings and tricks. All of the characters are well and truly in a muddle now… how will they figure it out?
