Year 6 have been constructing their WW2 Anderson Shelters in Outdoor Learning today and trying to protect their teddy bear family. A wonderful lesson in collaboration and problem solving. All the shelters survived the dreaded bombs!

Year six are collecting insects in outdoor learning today and not only learning their names in English but also in French. There is plenty to be found in our outdoor learning areas.

Year 5 were getting stuck into the tree planting yesterday amid the rain and hail showers. A successful session with over 100 trees planted so far! The wildlife hedge is really starting to take shape. @BishopsgateSch

It’s our first day of gardening club this term and the children have planted 34 trees to begin creating a new wildlife habitat on the back field. @BishopsgateSch #Sustainability #harmony

Year 6 have been creating some sturdy shelters in Outdoor Learning to gear them up for their WW2 History topic next term. In a part of topic they will be investigating ‘Anderson Shelters’.Most shelters survived the log bombs that the shelters were subjected to. @BishopsgateSch

In conjunction with English and the book Hatchet, Year 7 are learning some key survival skills in Outdoor Learning this month. Today it’s foraging for food and they’ve brewed some lovely teas. Dandelion, Pine, Hawthorn & Nettle. @BishopsgateSch @BGS_EnglishDpt
