January 6th was more than an attack on the Capitol it was an attack on democracy. The hate, violence, and division on display showed how deep the wounds are in our country. We can never forget, and we must stand against hate to heal and move forward. #StandAgainstHate
I was honored to join the M.W. Stringer Grand Lodge as it celebrated its 125th Homecoming in Jackson, MS on Saturday.
Congratulations to Grand Master Tonie L. Crisler and the entire Masonic Family on this historic milestone.
Thank you to the Friends of Lexington Preservation, the Holmes County Board of Supervisors, Mayor Percy Washington, Sheriff March, and members of the Holmes County TRIAD for the invitation to visit Lexington.
This is no longer a coincidence.
Six more Trump supporting, self professed "MAGA Christians" arrested for child sex crimes including two women, a retired police officer, and a fire fighter.

Trump has repeatedly advanced policies that enriched himself and his businesses.
Reports of stock trading while serving as President are yet another reminder that we are witnessing the most openly corrupt administration in modern American history.
The Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais is a warning we cannot ignore. This ruling will shape redistricting battles across the South at the federal, state, and local levels.
When we do not stand up, Black and Brown voters do not just lose a voice, we lose ground in housing, education, healthcare, economic opportunity, and civil rights.
Let’s be clear. This fight over redistricting has never been about protecting your vote. It has always been about protecting their power.
Getting involved in this fight matters because when you do not, you are surrendering.
I don't care what they say; we are committed to fighting this redistricting no matter what. There are more at stake than meets the eye, and we’ve come too far to ever turn around!
Last night on #PoliticsNation, I was joined by Rep. Yvette Clarke, Chair of the Congressional Black Caucus, and Rep. Bennie Thompson, Ranking Member of the House Homeland Security Committee, to discuss the Supreme Court’s latest ruling on Louisiana redistricting and what it means for Black representation in America.
What we are witnessing is not just a legal shift, it is a direct threat to decades of progress secured under the Voting Rights Act. As Congresswoman Clarke made clear, this decision could have generational consequences if we do not act. And Congressman Thompson reminded us that the very gains made since the Civil Rights Movement are now at risk of being rolled back.
From Congress to city councils, the fight for fair representation is being challenged at every level. But as they both emphasized, the response must be just as strong, through organizing, voter registration, and turnout.
This is a defining moment. The struggle continues, and we must meet it with action.
Ain’t no fun when the rabbit’s got the gun, that’s what we say in the country. Virginians made their move, backed a new map, and shifted the balance. Power looks different when the people decide to use it.
Our Dear Ole College Home now has stable, committed leadership. I’m confident Dr. Denise Jones-Gregory will take Jackson State to new heights. Join me in praying for and supporting her as our 14th President. The future of JSU is bright. Congratulations, Dr. Gregory!
Had a wonderful time spending time and fishing with my good friend and colleague, Congressman Troy Carter from Louisiana, along with some great outdoorsmen.
Heinous.
The leaders of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers waged a violent assault on our democracy in service of Trump.
Trump is using the Justice Department to erase their convictions and rewrite history.
The rule of law is under attack.
Trying to depict himself as Jesus Christ is blatant blasphemy and a complete disgrace. It is offensive to people of faith and shows a level of arrogance that should concern every American.
But truthfully, I’m not surprised.
Home, again! Mission complete. I hope we glorified God, humanity, our families and our terrific teams a @NASA and @csa_asc. Time to share the good news!
When they start complaining about how things are right now, just remind them we voted for the Vice President, we chose clear, qualified leadership, not convicted chaos.
.@KamalaHarris: He lied. He told the American people he'd bring down prices and costs on day one. Instead of taking care of the average folks in America, he's been taking care of his rich friends. The cost of gas, food, unemployment, has gone up since he's become president

Threatening innocent civilians is not leadership, it is a dangerous abuse of power.
The American people deserve steady, moral, and responsible leadership, not reckless escalation that risks lives at home and abroad.
This war must end, and it must end now!
This is Republican governance, reckless, harmful, and out of touch. They don’t fix problems, they create them, then leave everyday people to deal with the damage. Democrats fight to build, they choose to break.
