Overall, we adore these investments and want to see them continue and this version of Vbolt is a BIG improvement over recent years—but we hope that Forbidden Turn isn't completely finished just yet. Looking forward to developments in the weeks ahead!
Because, once again, the concept here is VERY strong, the bones are super compelling, it just needs some serious show programming improvements in my opinion. (Also needs to be finished, of course. In addition to the lack of spiels, the fog, for instance, is all turned off too).
Just got another Forbidden Turn update from BGW staff. Verbolten is currently undergoing final, state-required safety checks. Mechanical problems have been resolved by the sounds of things. Hoping to open "soon."
Current state of the Verbolten: Forbidden Turn line pictured below. Stretching down the start of the Ponte del Accordo bridge right now—not TOO terrible, but still no opening timeline updates yet.
Big Verbolten: Forbidden Turn timeline update: BGW leadership is now advising the queue that the coaster is very unlikely to open before noon, but maintenance has been working all night long and they DO still expect the attraction to open to pass members at some point today.
Verbolten: Forbidden Turn is set to open exclusively to pass members at 11am this morning! BGW leadership is telling folks in line currently "at least 11am" suggesting it could be a little later though—something to keep in mind.
We'll keep you updated!
@floridathrills There have been odd photo things happening around the park (camera changes at Griffon, PhotoKey changes) so yeah, good chance it's all related and the new contractor is moving in. Tempesto hasn't had photos in ages so if they're brought back, that would be a nice improvement!
Couple minor Festa Italia updates today:
🖼️1️⃣ Tempesto's long-closed photo booth has been repainted
🖼️2️⃣ The Festa Coke Market is back from last week's fumigation
🖼️3️⃣ ➕ 4️⃣: Fire-Tried Kettle Corn has begun popcorn and cotton candy sales out of their new (unfinished) pavilion
I'll always find it impressive how well InvadR was wedged into @BuschGardensVA, but here's something I think is often overlooked: Not only does InvadR travel both over and under Le Scoot, Le Scoot actually threads THROUGH InvadR's chain loop! Wild.
Bonus 5th change I just noticed: Not sure exactly how new this is, but I like the detail on this new-ish Festa Train Station sign. @BuschGardensVA's sign shop has been killing it this year!
Crazy to say, but it's already time to start thinking about Howl-O-Scream! Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of activity at the Festhaus Park event pavilion (home to last year's HORRIBLE new house, Werewolves: The Wolf’s Revenge). Might we see it reworked this year?
Though there isn't any testing happening at the moment, we have been hearing wide reports that the ride has been cycling lately. Right now trains are stopped on the bridge, the final brake run, the holding block in front of the station, and on launch one.
Some gorgeous new signage has shown up around the Verbolten station area this week! Cute designs and love the use of 3D lettering and the ride restrictions and photo booth signs!
Outside of new signage, work has really sped up around the coaster's queue and station area! (Final shot is inside the photo/gifts area if you're lost.)
