This time last week I was on Bute for the day. Various things made it back to the mainland on my memory card. Gannets diving for fish (from the ferry crossing); Raven vs Buzzard at Loch Fad; two Brown Hares playing chase in a field above Rothesay. No audio.
Just heard that one of the two Peregrine chicks from the Glasgow City Chambers nest box has fledged this afternoon but current whereabouts unkown. Picture is the adult female L7 from a few days ago.
I saw an Otter last Saturday morning, from a bridge over the River Clyde, east of Glasgow Green. It swam around a bit, did some dives, ate some wee fish, then disappeared from view: standard Otter stuff.
More Grey Wagtail, this time on the River Kelvin in Glasgow last weekend. The adults were feeding at least 4 young in the nest above the river. Also removing a fecal sack in the last clip.
Some clips from Greenock Esplanade today: how a Gannet gets airborne again after a dive; dolphin splash; Eider flock making use of ground effect; more dolphins. No audio.
Nine-cygnet Mute Swan family at Greenock Esplanade today. Not sure what was going on with the lad in frame 3; fed them loads of what looked like good quality bird food, then started giving out to the adult birds when they followed him. #birds
A fine morning to close out the month of May. Willow Warbler sings its only song by the Clyde at Longhaugh Point. Accompaniment includes Reed Bunting, Goldfinch, Chaffinch, the M8 and me shuffling about trying to dodge midges. Sound on for spring sunshine.
