It has been 100 years since the birth of Alfredo Di Stéfano, the greatest player of all time. On July 4, 1926, the Blond Arrow was born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), a player who became a legend of world football during his time at Real Madrid, from 1953 to 1964, and who changed the history of our club.

Di Stéfano led one of the greatest squads in the history of the sport, winning five consecutive European Cups, one Intercontinental Cup, two Latin Cups, eight La Liga titles, one Copa del Rey, and one Small World Cup. Additionally, he played 396 matches and scored 308 goals as a madridista.

With the Real Madrid jersey, he also achieved the highest individual honors. This is evident through his two Ballon d’Or awards and the Super Ballon d’Or, which France Football awarded him in 1989 to honor his career. He remains the only player to hold this distinction. He also won the Pichichi Trophy five times.

Beyond his importance as a player, he remained connected to Real Madrid as a coach and symbol of the club. From the bench, he won a Spanish Super Cup and gave momentum to the Quinta del Buitre. Alfredo Di Stéfano served as honorary president, and the stadium at Real Madrid City bears his name.
