The Montgomery Bus boycott was originally started by a man named E. D. Nixon, porter and head of the BSCP Montgomery chapter. Because of his hectic working and traveling schedule, he delegated his boycott duties to a local minister by the name of Martin Luther King Jr. (10/10)

This labor union was the only of its kind and was responsible for establishing higher wages for black employees, and a cap of 240 working hours per month, and eventually, it became an instrumental organization for the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s.
