Thanks @EasternEye @BarnieChoudhury for uncovering that 4 in 10 NHS trusts don’t have a single non-white executive director, and for interviewing me.

This is concerning on two fronts - is there equal opportunity for talented and capable ethnic minority staff to hold since senior positions across the NHS ? And what message does it send to an NHS workforce where 4 in 10 Drs and 26% of all staff are from ethnic minorities to be working under an all white executive team? Does it allow for culturally competent management in an NHS where there is clear evidence of higher levels of bullying and harassment, referral to disciplinary processes and poorer career progression for ethnic minority staff?
