Sad to see BitMex go. Some thoughts:

BitMex pioneered 100x perps in crypto back in 2014. Delivery futures existed before then, making Fridays hectic.

BTC deposits only, one chain only, withdrawals only once per day, through a multi-sig wallet. The constraints that seemed inconvenient kept them unhacked.

All four founders pled guilty to BSA violations a month before trial, after 18 months of fighting it. $10m fine each, home confinement. No one went to prison.

However, their business didn’t survive the “war on crypto” from the Biden admin.

Lastly, wind down appears orderly, users can withdrawals their assets. Respect to @CryptoHayes 🫡

NS is another YC-kind of incubator and we’re glad to see that it’s hosted in APAC than North America, as per my years experience of investment, there’s a big potential for startups to get massive adoption during market expansion in APAC but more entrepreneurial atmosphere from 0-1 in North America and EU, NS broke this imbalance and guided investors to discover more outstanding startup teams and key factors in the APAC region.

The competition for user rights among mainstream AI companies is even fiercer than the group-buying wars in China's food delivery industry.

It's either about different products from the same company mutually empowering each other, or about resetting usage limits and offering extra trial opportunities to improve user retention.

With technology at this stage of development, most applications have no or extremely low user churn costs; a more powerful product version is iterated out every two or three days.

The early-stage benefits of AI companies charging service fees may only last a few months or 1-2 years. After that, the fees will inevitably be leveled off due to competition from other products and product proliferation.

Currently, personally maintaining long-term paid memberships for various products, as well as aggregator services like Notion AI etc.. is already overwhelming. I believe the entire service architecture will gradually evolve from a flat model to a layered and subcontracted model.

Crypto exchanges entering US stocks? It’s not new — but early attempts were wild.

1/ In late 2018, BISS Exchange launched “one-click US stock buying” with USDT. No brokerage account, no USD wire — just stablecoins to trade Apple, Tesla, Alibaba, ETFs & more. Pure CFD innovation during the bear market. It exploded in popularity.

2/ But BISS paid the price. Main team in China, aggressively serving domestic users → massive regulatory red flags (securities license, forex controls, potential AML issues).

By Oct 2019: withdrawals frozen, staff detained, platform gone.

3/ FTX was next-level aggressive: tokenized stocks in 2020, real US stocks via licensed partners later. Binance briefly offered stock tokens too. SBF saw the trend early (like many of his ideas).

4/ Fast forward to 2025-2026: The Wild West is over. Top exchanges now do it right — partnering with licensed brokers & custodians, using 1:1 backed tokens (e.g. Kraken xStocks, Binance bStocks, Bitget rTokens). Proper asset isolation, dividends, corporate actions handled professionally.

5/ Lesson: US stocks + crypto is a massive opportunity, but not for cowboys. Regulatory maturity now separates who can actually deliver sustainably.

The gap between exchanges is widening.

Starryblu产品打磨得不错，产品定位也很清晰，但是运营和市场太弱智@Starryblu_ ，本来半年前提早注册，对用户体验抱着非常大的期待，结果近期card业务上线感受到的服务非常拉垮，注册过基本市面大多数Fintech的产品，对比下来这一波操作槽点太多，看清了一个团队的内核，Starryblu的产品和服务能力差距如此之大

1. 用户超过半年注册等待Starryblu Card排队体验，结果近期运营人员联系KOL做大规模宣传，反而推荐的新用户优先体验选号下卡，老用户联系客服一问三不知凉在背后，典型的背信弃义风格，做公司的大忌，凡事有个先来后到，邀请新用户体验没问题，既然在努力拉新体验支付功能，宁可辜负老用户也不及时开放，客服的情绪价值基本没有；

2. 这几天开放了微信扫码支付功能，结果每天一条甚至每天多条App内系统推送，垃圾邮件和传销风格，体验特别差劲，Starryblu好歹也是个正统且有熊猫速汇背景的Fintech公司，怎么在照顾用户感受上做得这么白痴？ iFast正好也是七月初开放全球扫码支付功能，但只收到两封通知邮件，一封几周前提前告知具体何时开放，一封正式开放的通知邮件，非常清爽，差距非常大；

3. 因为Card功能对老用户迟迟不开放，担心靓号被抢注最后找KOL朋友间接提交了白名单才能通过。保守起见先支付升级到了Plus查看可选靓号再考虑继续升级，结果系统的设计是在当前付费等级必须先设置Card之后才可以继续升级；也就是说在Plus情况下，不可以先升级到Deity再使用免费权益选择价值500 USD的靓号，只能先高价单独付费选号设置Card后才能升级，因此导致的选号费也不能退还，否则要么得不到心仪号码要么无法更高升级，客服理解能力差，找了两波在线客服，还要求发了邮件，结果连问题和需求都没理解，一个新App有多少人敢一下支付1000 USD年费的？ 这种服务水平也没有继续升级的必要；

4. 接第三条，因为选号之前没有升级按钮，本身就是设计问题，后台确认好给出解决方案就可以了，客服非要录屏发邮件反映问题，结果邮件来回不到两三次回复，居然系统自动回复说邮件条数太多让在线处理，官方邮箱连域名认证都没弄好，邮箱检测都自动发了安全提醒，一种野鸡团队的感觉；另外发邮件可是在线客服要求的，在哪里沟通都是正常反馈途径，哪有精力时时刻刻线上和客服耗着聊天？发邮件连个系统case号都没有，要来回重复描述问题，理解能力和回复效率极差；

总结下来就是团队工程能力较强，产品功能性体验也不错，满足了刚需场景，运营和服务一群憨批，完全不照顾用户感受，服务体系跟不上客服系统不完善，在线客服系统卡顿，邮件系统形同虚设，没架设好就不要上线，这种水平用了拉垮只能给Starryblu自己减分，给KOL拉新的精力，不如好好提高一下你们的服务体系。#Starryblu

Some updates on the creator rev share program:

1. Soliciting engagements (“I’ll follow everyone who replies”) 3 or more times will results in removal from the program and your account will be forwarded to the policy team for suspension. Grok now catches all of these.

Nearly 4000 accounts were removed from the program today.

2. Our new model now detects duplicated content at 3x the rate of the previous model. Adding watermarks, intros and other edits will send monetized impressions to the original uploader. This also includes copying viral text posts (most common one: “Twitter is like the smoking section of the internet”).

We detected 1.5 million posts that were stolen this cycle. Repeated or intentional circumvention will lead to removal from the program.

With these changes, over $1 million will be given back to original content creators.
